She has built a small but mighty team of 16 Administrators and Moderators which now serves 143,000 Members and growing! She has served in many capacities in public service in AmeriCorps, the U.S. Peace Corps, nonprofits, and government. She lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and two rescue dogs.

She has a PhD in Communications and Media with an emphasis on Latinx Communication and Gender Studies from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. - Victoria Reyes is an Associate Professor of Gender & Sexuality Studies at University of California Riverside. She is a sociologist and gender scholar who studies culture, borders, and empires. Her research and teaching interests include culture, global and transnational sociology, economic sociology, urbanism, historical/comparative sociology, qualitative methods, race/ethnicity, gender, and law and society. Dr. Reyes is author of the multi-award winning book Global Borderlands: Fantasy, Violence and Empire in Subic Bay, Philippines (published in 2019 by Stanford University Press) and Academic Outsider: Stories of Exclusion and Hope, which was just published in July 2022 through Stanford Briefs, an imprint of Stanford University Press.
