Yelling at concrete
Graham Cooling
Yelling at concrete isbi-weekly podcast for coffee and conversation, taking a look at the life and interests of the guests who chat with me as well as taking an introverted look at topics I'm interested in!
Graham is an artist and passionate creative who thrives on generating conversation and discussion in a more abstract manner than just posing questions so three weeks out of each month with a one week breather he sits down to have a cuppa and chat. When guests come they bring their own topic so every episode is lead by the guests interests and what they want to discuss and the solo casts are wandering thoughts on subjects which interest Graham. The goal is keep the subjects diverse and give people a space to just have a chill and talk about what's really going on.
You can catch the show three times a month on a Friday and follow it through the year as Graham brings you a range of guests and topics. The key word is conversation so we don't edit we just talk and that allows us to relax and really get into subjects. I hope you'll join us.

Yelling at Concrete Podcast - (2022 Trailer)
Yelling at concrete
12/31/21 • 4 min
Yelling at concrete podcast is a three times a month podcast hosted by myself "Graham".
Founded in 2017 I have been finding and catching up with guests and friends for what will be five seasons going into 2022!
Each week a new cast goes up and a new topic is discussed. In solo episodes Graham dives into a thought or idea attempting to bring some sort of balance to the chaos which is online discussion and follows the thought do discuss his own ideas.
Where as in episodes with a guest we're in their world as the guest picks the topic! Graham has no say in what's coming and thus gives people who have passionate interests and ideas to just have a platform for an hour with an open ear to talk about it.
Unlike other podcasts we thrive and are here for the conversation and the more abstract that is the more balanced it is. It's all about creating discussion and conversation and truly taking advantage of that hour to talk round an idea not just give a soundbite.
The Yelling at concrete podcast was formed out of a cup of coffee and lots of conversations with friends and that is what it hopes to maintain.
Intended to capture those little moments of discussion between people where they get chance to talk about something bothering or inspiring them and give the world a place where it can sit discuss and listen for an hour or so.
So if you fancy a coffee and a chat why not have a listen and a look and take the weight of your shoulders by yelling at concrete.

This week we focus on the big questions the non trivial internet answers. What happens when your mind is so focused on small arguments that you expunge your energy and thoughts into the simple idea of putting a fruit on a pie?
I tend not to get dragged into internet arguments, even in real life i avoid these kinds of asks because I have other things to focus on. Bigger questions I want answers too like Just where is Carmen Sandiego. So lets explore. Explore the energy you spend on the correct pronunciation of Scone, the idea of Pineapple on Pizza and who makes the best bagel and instead just say ok. Now lets move on.

Episode 267 - How to be a creative co-signer
Yelling at concrete
10/25/24 • 24 min
Call it a bad habit, call me an enabler but it seems everyone I meet i encourage to make something. This could be a fundamental flaw in myself but if I have a goal that goal is to convince everyone to explore creating.
This is not to say everyone could and should be an artist but there is nothing stopping you exploring putting pencil to pad, paper to paper or baked good in a bowl to discover the fun of invention though creation so lets talk about my history of that and how talking to me can be somewhat dangerous for your free time.

Episode 263 - The Art of Investment in AI art.
Yelling at concrete
08/30/24 • 27 min
This week we talk money and how the in reality these investments in art "art" are really short sighted financially. By alienating the creative user base companies are going to quickly find themselves in the process of needing unique ideas. Something AI cannot generate without theft.
There is also the question of financial return. If you invest a few thousand in an art art engine and then need people to maintain and manufacture within it you're going to quickly get replicated, packaged and need to work near constantly to stay ahead but what happens if you spend a couple grand on an individual? So make a one off? To make a unique piece you can profit on for hundreds of years?
Lets talk about that.

Episode 259 - Can you Gentrify a mind?
Yelling at concrete
07/05/24 • 24 min
During a very recent solo podcast I talking about how the internet had become gentrified and in a world of online subscriptions, ad block and internet gate keeping we were in a different age. And Along with that I had another thought.
Can you gentrify a human being? A mind? A thought? It's something I believe I've witnessed. Something where those who didn't have money no longer appreciate the simple idea of the free item or the low cost option because the price tag had made it worthless to them.
So lets pick that scab a little more and ask. Can you gentrify a mind?
