This week we were lucky to get a chance to interview Jody Ray - an author, world traveler and host of the Exit Strategy podcast, Exit Strategy is a podcast about geopolitics, conflict, human rights issues and the illicit political economy. Jody also hosts an associated video exploration channel, Exit Strategy TV where he uncovers culture, conflict, and cuisine of different of the beaten path destinations primarily focused in Africa.

During our conversation, we discussed the importance of why we should be informed citizens in the geopolitical sphere and the true meaning of offbeat travel. We loved having Jody on the show as our conversation is filled with impressive insight and thought provoking perspective. India Part 2: Stop and Drink the Chai

This is a continuation from our interview with Philippa Kaye. We discuss the importance of sustainable tourism and being cognizant and respectful when visiting different destinations. Philippa shares with us what India has taught her personally and professionally over the last 25 years and what to expect when visiting this unique and colorful country.

She teaches us that the best way for anyone to have authentic travel experiences is to discover the true reason why you are going to a location and to be intentional with your itinerary by seeking out purpose driven experience providers. Be sure to check the show notes to learn more about Philippa’s company Indian Experiences and her work in conjunction with teletour. We hope you enjoy this conversation as much as we did.

Travel as a form of Self Discovery

We absolutely love our conversation with the Founder of the Storied Experience, Samantha Hardcastle. Samantha is a remarkable creative in the tourism and hospitality space who brings a unique perspective to the art of storytelling. This episode definitely left us inspired and ready to take our next trip!

Instead of diving into a specific destination, we talk in depth about travel as a form of self discovery, how to best have intentional + impactful travel experiences, and what excites us about the future of transformative travel. We also speak about Samantha’s new application Reviere! The platform serves as an incredible Journey Mapping x Storyboard tool.

We could have talked about this subject for hours, so we decided to break up our conversation into two parts. We hope you enjoy part one of World View Mirror: Travel as a form of Self Discovery.
