In Part 2 of my conversation with Michelle Solger, we discuss the importance of preparation and knowledge for expectant moms in relation to pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Michelle highlights the lack of information and support provided to new parents, focusing on the physical and emotional changes that occur during postpartum. She mentions the surprise and unpreparedness many mothers experience regarding various aspects of postpartum. Michelle emphasizes the need for education, self-care, and acceptance of help from others during this transformative period.

Michelle stresses the significance of knowledge and preparation for the postpartum period. She encourages expectant parents to educate themselves about the physical and emotional changes that occur after childbirth, as well as the challenges they may face. She highlights common surprises for new mothers, including breastfeeding difficulties, loneliness, sleep deprivation, hair loss, body odor, and pelvic floor issues. Michelle advocates for improved postpartum care, including better education, support systems, and insurance coverage.

Michelle is a postpartum educator, mental wellness advocate, and mom of 2. She is currently working on her certification as a mental wellness coach. After having kids, she realized the absence of honest motherhood on social media and the lack of education about what your body is going through postpartum, and she wanted to change that! Her passion is to teach mamas what is happening in their bodies postpartum and show all the real, raw parts of being a mom.

You got this, Mama,
