We discuss how women have been acculturated to be people pleasers. It's great to help others! But when pleasing others costs us, it is no longer beneficial. One of the things we have trouble with is saying "no." We worry that we will be perceived as being difficult, or people will have bad feelings towards us, or question whether we have a valid reason for saying no. But the fact is, we don't have to give a reason! As they say, "no" is a complete sentence! Even if it causes us some discomfort at first, it's important that women get comfortable saying no when we just can't, or don't want to take on another thing.
