Our guest speaker is Tierra Smith, an award-winning journalist, editor, speaker, and world traveler. In this interview, she covers how she balances her career at KPRC Channel 2 in Houston, the NBC affiliate tv station, while also running her new media company. She’s also going to share with us how she successfully organized and ran a crowdfunding campaign during the pandemic!
Her passion is in storytelling to uplift the voices of women and marginalized communities. In 2019, Tierra launched Wins For Black Girls, a media platform that prioritizes spreading the good news about Black women. Through her text messaging platform, she sends tri-weekly news articles that cover news, politics, entrepreneurship, sports, and culture. Wins for Black girls also features the virtual Black girl showcase, the Black Women's Marketplace, and the Watch Me Win Podcast. Her goal is to connect with those who want to know and celebrate Black women.

Today, we have an expat guest speaker, Anna Podolskaya, who is an agile technical program manager at Easy Post company. Her background is in agile project and program management and has worked in fintech, edtech, and API integrations. She’s also an MBA grad from Hult International Business School.
I’m thrilled to finally share this recording about Anna’s journey as she made her way through the U.S. while job searching as an expat. Honestly, her resilience can inform and help any person looking for work right now.

Today, we have a special guest from the media world. We generally talk about tech, corporate floor environments, and side-hustles. I’m delighted to bring in media as part of our coverage, as women in film and media create the stories and identities so many of us follow in streaming stories, film, and tv.
I welcome Fabiola Andrade who is originally from Honduras and is currently based out of New Orleans as a filmmaker. She is inspired by her multicultural heritage and interdisciplinary background. She’s also a Woman Telluride Film Festival Cinephile and NOFF’s Emerging Voices Film Director Mentee. In between her own projects, she’s collaborated with independent and studio productions from Netflix. Paramount Pictures, and Universal Studios. Her commercial and music video work includes brands like Coca-Cola, Gap, Mitsubishi, the Soul Rebels. Her latest screenplay on identity, It’s Me, Sarah, is in post-production getting prepped for festival runs in 2021.

Today, our guest is Estefânia Barsante, a Brazilian professional career coach and psychologist with six years of HR experience and stationed in Silicon Valley. She has lived in the U.S. since 2019 and after experiencing a struggle with adapting to the US, she now coaches other ex-pats around the world on how to adapt as an ex-pat while preparing one’s mindset for work. She also has created an online community called Grow Together to connect and develop Brazilian women living abroad.
