019: What is Even Real Anymore?
WitchFoot Podcast
05/10/22 • 43 min
Join us for a rousing discussion of the mediasphere, how to maintain your own power and for shits and giggles, the Johnny Depp v Amber Heard case.
Can anyone STFU?
The backlash to the backlash to the thing that's just begun.
WitchFoot HIGHLY recommends Bo Burnham's Inside and Make Happy.
Recorded court proceedings of Depp v. Heard
There's a reason why cameras are rolling at Depp v. Heard but not other high-profile cases. As to whether Depp or Heard finds this invasive, sources range from "Depp fought to have them" to "Depp didn't publicly fight to block them." Whatever the truth is, the Judge made their decision and we have to agree that someone is the expert here!
Creamy Tuscan Chicken Recipe (TikTok) (Warning: This recipe's title has not been approved by Tuscany or half of Tiktok. Andrea made it though, and it was bomb dot fucking com. Haters gonna hate.)
The algorithm and modern marketing truly aren't working for your benefit or your best interest - you're a data point, and they're exploiting your feelings for profit. The Social Dilemma explains why in heartbreaking detail.
The downfall of man and the 24 hour news cycle.
The specials and doc we linked are all on Netflix, they really are coming for password sharing, and fuck those assholes because they just raised prices too. Cutting corporate greed is always an option, you know.

001: How WitchFoot Came to Be
WitchFoot Podcast
12/21/21 • 36 min
WitchFoot origin story: Is it the Great WitchFoot Project, the Great Conjunction, the Great Resignation or all three!? Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion...
Show Notes:
- Favorite horror movies (Please know that this list really forced us to be brief, but there could have been many more added. We look forward to continuing to explore the genre and growing with it.)
- Favorite quote about living in a house of cards, from Mysticism by Evelyn Underhill (1961) "We must come to this encounter with minds cleared of prejudice and convention, must deliberately break with our inveterate habit of taking the 'visible world' for granted; our lazy assumption that somehow science is 'real' and metaphysics is not. We must pull down our own card houses - descend, as the mystics say, 'into our nothingness - and examine for ourselves the foundations of all possible human experience, before we are in a position to criticize the buildings of the visionaries, the poets and the saints. We must not begin to talk of the unreal world of these dreamers until we have discovered - if we can - a real world with which it may be compared."
- Abraham Hicks (Andrea paraphrases a quote: No amount of effort can make up for lack of alignment.)
- Great Conjunction and Great Mutation
- To pull your own birth chart we recommend Cafe Astrology or Astro Charts. There are many others out there, find one you love!
- How to find your chart ruler and what it means (astrology)
- The Great Resignation (huzzah and ugh)
- F 2020 song (YouTube)
- Living, aka the act of being alive, should be free. This is not a debate. We did it for 200,000 years.
- WitchFoot Astrology Sessions & Natal Charts: Coming soon!
- Dolly Parton quote: "Find out who you are and do it on purpose."

007: Astrological Polarities - Taurus and Scorpio
WitchFoot Podcast
02/15/22 • 61 min
Wendi and Andrea dive into another fixed polarity: Taurus and Scorpio! For this pair we discuss the energetic signature of Security. *And special note: this is where the North and South Nodes of the moon currently reside in the night sky.
The basics: Taurus is a fixed earth sign, ruled by Venus and ruler of the second house. Scorpio is fixed water, ruled by Mars and oversees all affairs in the eighth house.
Show Notes:
- Let's hear it for Generation Scorpio Pluto!
- Scorpio is synonymous with transformation. Wendi cites the cycle of scorpion to dragon to phoenix. This lovely article discusses it with a slight twist, an eagle as the middle stage.
- The four fixed stars: Antares (Scorpio), Aldebaran (Taurus), Regulus (Leo), Fomalhaut (Aquarius)
- Want to go on Andrea's favorite Scorpionic underworld journey? Initiated: Memoir of a Witch by Amanda Yates Garcia
- We are all made of sexual energy! And I pinky promise, this is not a sex cult.
- Dan Cummins will be really pissed if you spend all his money. (Rant on Episode 130 - Casey Anthony)
- A few times during this episode we reference our previous polarity episode - Leo & Aquarius and their signature energy: Identity. You can hear both Wendi and I extrapolating identity into a broader concept of freedom, because in a world that has very definite ideas about who is allowable, embodying your identity fully is a powerful freedom. So again we say: Find out who you are and do it on purpose.
- If you're a male-identifying-being born with a significant Taurus signature and you do not love military history, give us a shout.
- Taurus love to Qveen Herby!
- Wendi has a beautiful Taurus puppers.
- Kelly Clarkson and Danielle Fishel - Taurus beauties!

Wendi and Andrea explore new realms: 1) How will you harness the Year of the Tiger 2) Off the cuff, what's the most profound rap lyric?
Listen to the end to hear us dissolve into a fascinating discussion of Snoop Dogg, Martha Stewart and the Puppy Bowl!
Show Notes:
- How I'm Healing From This Podcast - Andrea recommends the second episode, Astrology: Learning the Astrological Framework from your own lineage in order to decolonize your conception of time.

003: The WitchFoot Perspective
WitchFoot Podcast
01/03/22 • 67 min
What are the three P's of personal responsibility?! Who's Carol P. Christ? How do we stop dramatic stalemates and fucking do something good around here? We're so excited to have you - welcome to the WitchFoot perspective.
Show Notes:
- To pull your own birth chart we recommend Cafe Astrology or Astro Charts. There are many others out there, find one you love!
- Owen Wilson's Saturday Night Live Monologue (YouTube: quote from 1:44 - 2:27)
- Information is inherently neutral (more on that next episode!)
- Caroline Myss and the lectures where we encountered the concept of "energy leaks"
- Another energy leak conversation I love: Mark Duplass and Pete Holmes on You Made it Weird discussing "soul points"
- Diving Deep and Surfacing: Women Writers on Spiritual Quest by Carol P. Christ. We read the 1986 edition which contains a foreword that describes many of her techniques in bringing these types of ideas to groups of women. We highly recommend any edition you can find!
- Carol discusses the four stages of a woman's spiritual and social quest: Nothingness, Awakening, Insight, Naming. WitchFoot discusses "nothingness" and "naming" in this episode. Nothingness being a quality of invalidation and lack of discussion around major themes and prominent feelings and values that many people experience. Lacking templates for the life you were born into. Naming, the final stage, as a response to the understanding, integration and healing that's blossomed into a creative naming process - bringing stories into being by applying new and old words in ways otherwise unseen. Stories that shed light on the vast array of beauty and suffering on earth and allow the shadows to be given space and language. Stories that name women and their complex, beautiful, painful lives so that the patriarchy can't define it for us.
- Nothingness and naming help to illuminate topics close to our hearts like, why horror can be good for everyone (kids too!) - There is a way that horror addresses power dynamics, feelings of alienation and fear and lots of complex societal ills that has made loyal fans out of both of us. More horror in episode 4!
- Carol has a PhD from Yale! She's an absolute incarnation of the goddess and this obituary on her is a gift. Also, check out that website (blog and main site)! Looks like it's kept up by some incredible humans.
- We mentioned historic gridlock (from the perspective of American politics), the Bush v. Gore election and a sense that the powers that be have l

010: Astrological Polarities - Gemini and Sagittarius
WitchFoot Podcast
03/08/22 • 58 min
Erudition, learning, seeking, exploring...help us out folks! We landed on Processing as the signature energy for the Gemini/Sagittarius polarity. The optimists of the zodiac are worth knowing.
The Basics: Gemini is a mutable air sign, ruled by Mercury and natural ruler of the third house. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign, ruled by Jupiter and the natural ruler of the ninth house.
Show Notes:
- "Facts don't care about your feelings" - most closely associated with Ben Shapiro! Who has prominent Gem AND Sag placements. We nailed it. P.S. Fuck Ben Shapiro.
- Alice Sparkly Kat discusses the mutable cross brilliantly and with loads of insight around squares and oppositions in the other modalities as well. Sidenote: It sent Andrea down a wild rabbit hole...the Thema Mundi!? I never knew...
- Andrea references cadent signs and apparently, not a thing! Cadent houses represent the third, sixth, ninth and 12th houses in the zodiac. I would argue the energy is still relevant to the signs that rule them!
- Colin Bedell - Queercosmos - Incredible Gemini astrologer!
- Wendi pulled out all the stops with quotes today:
- Nicki Minaj - "Barbie Things"
"Sagittarius so you know I'm an optimist" - Jim Morrison quotes
"I think the highest and lowest points are the important ones. Anything else is just in between." - Princess Nokia - "Gemini"
"Two heads, one eye"
"I'm such a free spirit that I don't fucking care"
"Imagination colorful, and I just entertain it"
"Spinelli, I'm Recess"
- Nicki Minaj - "Barbie Things"
- Sherlock Holmes Mind Palace - Is it like this Gemini's?! Let me know!
- Doctor Sleep, Wendi recommends the book!
- Andrea's mental process (Heyyyyy Leo Mercury!) as identified by her loving spouse

013: Astrological Polarities - Cancer and Capricorn
WitchFoot Podcast
03/29/22 • 63 min
Cancer and Capricorn...nom nom nom. Have we just hit on Andrea's favorite polarity!? Not for the faint of heart, these two are concerned with Legacy.
The Basics: Cancer is a cardinal water sign, ruled by the Moon and queen of the Imum Ceoli (IC)/fourth house. Capricorn is a cardinal earth sign, ruled by Saturn and supreme leader of the MC/10th house.
Show Notes:
- We used to live and plant by the synodic calendar - moon-based instead of the sun-based Gregorian calendar we're used to today.
- The Great WitchFoot Project website is LIVE! And it's gorgeous folks.
- We be riffin on bricks, yo! That Brick House performance never left me. Not Brian Boitano! Kurt Browning for the win.
- The fourth and tenth houses are oft-studied in the astrology world. They form a cross with your first and seventh, perhaps speaking to the challenges you'll undergo to find yourself in this lifetime. The fourth house cusp is called your Imum Coeli and the tenth house cusp is your MC or Midheaven. If the fourth is your foundation, the tenth is the outgrowth of all you are and how the world sees you.
- Are you part of the creepy mom's club? We're always recruiting.
- Matrilineal and matrifocal society used to be a reality for the entire human family.
Intro Music: Smash by Lupus Nocte
Outro Music: White-Crowned Sparrow by Torii Wolf

Mercury retrograde happens a lot, and while it can feel like some big, big energy, it's all happening for your highest good!
More a details guy? Mercury approves! Here's the deets:
- May 10: stations retrograde at 4 Gemini (review – receptive thinking)
- May 16-23: Aries Jupiter sextile Mercury Gemini rx (expanding review)
- May 20-23: Sun into Gemini conjunct Mercury into Taurus (kiss and trade signs)
- May 22: enters Taurus in retrograde (review – commitment to being)
- May 20 – June 2: Capricorn Pluto trine Mercury Taurus rx (transformative review)
- May 25 – June 3: Aquarius Saturn square Mercury Taurus rx (evaluative review)

- June 3-12: Pisces Neptune sextile Mercury Taurus (idealistic process)
- June 3-15: Capricorn Pluto trine Mercury Taurus (transformative process)
- June 18: returns to 4 Gemini (process – receptive thinking)
- June 17-22: Aries Jupiter sextile Mercury Gemini (expanding process)
In summary: Mercury pauses at the precipice of air, receiving information to consider, then returns to review her commitment to her physical self, kissing the Sun as they cross paths in opposite directions. Jupiter supports Mercury’s desire to initiate, to act on what she finds while turning her earth. Pluto lovingly reminds Mercury of the necessary transformation to come, what she must leave behind, the legacy of today’s decisions, and the work that has brought her this far. Feeling fortified, Mercury consults Saturn for resolution, to ensure there are no blind spots in her new plan, and to feel ready for what the next phase requires of her. Neptune provides a little sugar to help the medicine go down, and a salve for any stingers on the journey ahead. Pluto returns to test Mercury’s new process – one final adjustment period before Jupiter thrusts Mercury back into the fast lane, the big leagues, and catching up to her Sun.
Synastry is the loving review of two or more natal charts in combination. Need that itch scratched but still working on your astrology basics? The Pattern will allow you to run your chart against friends, family, lovers and even celebrities!
If you're attempting synastry on the fly, WitchFoot recommends analyzing the two mercury placements for a substantive starting point!
And for those who listened all the way til the end...a gorgeous Adrienne Rich quote to support our Lover's year:
From Dreams of a Common Language by Adrienne Rich
"I choose to love this time for once / with all my intelligence"
