We've reached the end of Season 1 (or Series 1, as Neil likes to call it) and we are so grateful to you all for listening. Season/Series 2 will be with you in the autumn and we are so excited about the incredible stories we're going to share with you then.
This week, Dave is trying to terrify us all by asking Dr. Amy Mainzer, the science advisor on Netflix's Don't Look Up and one of the world's leading scientists in asteroid detection and planetary defense, what in space will kill us and when! The good news is that we should survive long enough to see Neil's appearance on Celebrity Mastermind so PHEW!

With the help of the Historian in Residence at EPIC, Catherine Healy, we learn about Cedric Gibbons, the man with 39 Oscar nominations, 11 wins and the fact that he designed the Oscars statuette. We also encounter a man twice as tall as the Statue of Liberty and a woman from Scotland who swam, cycled and ran her way into the Academy Awards!

Dave is really easing us into this one with a simple question: what’s the worst pain the natural world has to offer?
In this episode, we meet Mark Vins, the CEO of one of YouTube’s most successful channels, Brave Wilderness. Mark and his friend, Coyote Peterson, have spent their days getting stung, bitten and finding out the worst pain humans can stand so that we don’t have to! Thanks, lads!
We also learn some startling facts and figures surrounding YouTube, including how many years it would take you to watch everything that’s ever been uploaded! It’s a very long time but not as long as Neil guesses cos he’s figured out a way to ruin Dave’s day and this means that normal service has resumed for Season 5!
