Who Art Thou? - Episode 121: Ferals

Episode 121: Ferals

Who Art Thou?

Today I am joined by Shane of the Belfast Heavyweights, Ferals!

The band last month releasd their largest body of work to date, the EP ‘Love & Other Obsessions’. The EP showcases a band acknowledging their past but always reaching toward the future, bringing contemporary sounds in to support emotionally extravagant songwriting, that according to the band explores the idea of love as the ultimate vice. This EP is essential listening from a band at the height of their abilities.

I will be breaking down the entire EP with Shane, going through each track individually, dissecting their meaning and how they were constructed, including the engineering work Shane did on the EP, his first time doing this with the band.

The band are also currently on tour, you'll be able to catch them this week on the following dates:

20th of November - The Victoria - Birmingham

21st of November - Spinning Top - Stockport

22nd of November - The Pump - Trowbridge

Judging by the videos I've seen, those shows are not to be missed so make sure to pick up a ticket asap!

Episode 120: Dylan Flynn and the Dead Poets

Today I am joined on the podcast by Limerick's own, Dylan Flynn and the Dead Poets!

Having a jam-packed busy year, I'll primarily be chatting to Dylan about the band's second release of the year, their brand new album 'the story after they're gone', which was released on October 11th.

I'll be chatting about the recording process of this album, the reasoning behind the title and the album's artwork, the band's tour and how awesome Bon Iver is.

You can catch them live tonight in Workman's Cellar as part of the final date of their Irish tour and then in the UK starting next week in London on the 14th.

Episode 122: Codespeaker

I have a very special episode of the podcast out today in that it's the first time I have ever had a band from outside of Ireland on the podcast, and we're going big in that I'll be joined by Greg Armstrong and Bob Fraser of Edinbrugh's own, Codespeaker!

I'll be chatting with the lads about their incredible new album, 'Scavenger', which was released on November 8th and features some of the bleakest, pummelling Metal I've heard on any album all year - I literally can't recommend it enough.

On top of all this we'll be chatting about the tour they are embarking on with the fantastic band, Hundred Year Old Man. It begins tonight in the Sound House, Dublin and will be taking the tour across Ireland and England over the 10 days.

The Irish dates will have rodeo roadshow that is Uncultivates as support so make sure to grab a ticket while you can. Cork is completely sold out!
