07/08/23 • 73 min

Who Art Thou?
So last month Sunbather turned 10 years old. One of the most positively reviewed albums of 2013, it's style and aesthetic can still be felt in many black metal releases to this day and tt's an album of particular significance to myself and it had a huge impact on the direction my music tastes once I had heard it.So here's a little bonus episode of me disecting the album and it's relevence to me. Hope you enjoy it!

Episode 43: Hibsen

For today's episode, I'll be joined by Jim Murphy and Gráinne Hunt of the band Hibsen!

Each of them are extremely talented muscians, you may know Jim from his work from fronting his band Blue Fish Diamond and you may know Gráinne from her solo work as a contemporary nu folk singer/songwriter.

They've come together to form the band Hibsen and have recently released their debut album, The Stern Task of Living.'The Stern Task of Living' is an album inspired by the work of James Joyce, with each song on the album is taken from his collection of short stories in 'Dubliners'.

Having recently played as a part of Bloomsday and putting on a fantastic show in Smock Alley Theatre, it was a real pleasure having them on. This episode will be a little different to the normal structure as the band have very generously allowed me to sprinkle parts of the album throughout this episode, so you get a real feeling for how beautiful the music is.

On top of that, there is a live performance of 'Eveline' at the end of the episode that the band recorded in studio.I hope you enjoy the episode!

Episode 44: Nerves

Today I am joined by the band Nerves!

Hailing from Maigh Eo and Gaillimhe, I'm joined by all member (Kyle, Adam and Charlie) to chat about how the band started, how they developed their sound, how their song 'Leigue' was a turning point for the band and other topics such as what it's like to preform at an Achill Henge, their live video of 'Enclosed' filmed at Anseo and what the band is working on at the moment.

A Super talented band, first time I say them in Anseo and I knew had to get them on after the first note they played.

Hope you's enjoy the episode!
