We’ll explore what writer and philosopher Thomas Payne had to say about American independence. We’ll then explore what Freemasonry has to do during its ritual work with the idea of freedom. We'll talk about the reason for the War of Independence—and what we get wrong about the American Revolution. Was it about taxes or representation?
