What is TWS? TWS stands for "The White Pants Society". Yes, that should be TWPS but it's a long story. This is a show about serious topics that tries not to take itself too seriously. Your host, JDotFlan, is a father, recovering addict, and washed-up rapper that each week discusses his perspective on life, fatherhood, relationships, music, and anything else that seems interesting. It's tongue-in-cheek humor that is sometimes offensive, sometimes poignant, often unscripted, but always real. If any of that makes sense to you then you are one of us and I welcome you to TWS (the p is silent).

Why did you start this show?

The show started in 2016 as a cultural exchange amongst my friends. It turned into just 2 of us then eventually just me. Luckily my daughter has become a great source of content.

What do you hope listeners gain from listening to your show?

Perspective. The knowledge that they are not the only one that thinks that way. The awareness that there is humor in everything, and there is always, always, always something to be grateful for.

Which episode should someone start with?

I always think my latest is my greatest.

Which have been your favourite episodes so far?

Episode 264 - Officer Friendly is a personal favorite. Beofra Boy ain't bad either.

Which episode are you most proud of?

Keeping my uncles alive on Episode 139 - Stay Grateful!

What is your vision for your show?

I just want to give a voice to the everyday dude that's struggling to be a parent and navigate this crazy world.

What is your favourite other podcast that isn't yours?

I spend a lot of time on ALL ON DA TABLE so I gotta mention that one, if there's one I'm not on that I'm a fan of it's The Thing About Us.

How did you come up with the name for your podcast?

A friend of mine heard I used to rap and wanted to try his hand at it. He spat the iconic line "You gotta wear your white pants while you still gotta chance", and some twist and turns I can't talk about and you end up with The White Pants Society aka whatisTWS?

I'm a recovering alcoholic, father, hip-hop fanatic, and regular dude that likes to vent.
