What Were They Thinking?
04/14/22 • 92 min
Joining the guest co-host train this week is Brent from the Home Video Hustle as he helps Brendan break down the Jean-Claude Van Damme "classic" - Cyborg. What Were They Thinking?
06/09/22 • 98 min
Listeners Choice Month continues with a pick from Brent of the Home Video Hustle podcast. The guys are bestowed with A Haunted House, the horror/parody starring Marlon Wayans alongside some pretty talented improv comedians. They talk about every and all things including Marlon Wayans getting intimate with stuffed animals, talented comedians attempting to elevate rather dire material, VERY subtle gay jokes, lazy stereotypes and much more. Plus: Al G. Rhythm invades Rotten Tomatoes and Nathan issues a dire warning about A Haunted House 2.

Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin (w/Home Video Hustle)
What Were They Thinking?
01/20/22 • 119 min
Pressing forward through the worst of 2021, the guys tackle a found-footage disasterpiece known as Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin. Thankfully, they have recruited a helping hand in Brent from the Home Video Hustle podcast, who appreciated this nap of a movie. So why is this episode longer than usual for such a nothing movie? Well, they may have gotten off-topic... a lot. They do discuss the nonsensical camera work, the legalities of obtaining hospital security footage, Brendan's hatred of one character in particular and much more!

Heat (w/Britany Sparrow)
What Were They Thinking?
12/02/21 • 96 min
No, it's not the one with DeNiro and Pacino. Nor is it the Sandra Bullock/Melissa McCarthy cop comedy. This week, the guys bring in first-time guest and independent filmmaker Britany Sparrow to discuss the bizarre Burt Reynolds action (?) movie Heat. This movie has everything: it's written by acclaimed screenwriter William Goldman (!) adapted from a William Goldman novel (!!!), Burt says every horrible creepy insult in the first ten minutes of it, the film inexplicably becomes The Karate Kid halfway through and that's just the tip of the iceberg!

Tron: Legacy
What Were They Thinking?
06/02/22 • 107 min
Listeners Choice Month begins with a pick from the Spirit! It's Tron: Legacy and it has the guys scratching their heads at all the WACKY terminology! Is de-aged Jeff Bridges one of the worst "special effects" in cinematic history? How much word salad can this movie get away with? Is Olivia Wilde playing a sex robot? Did this movie really have a character twist that has absolutely no weight if you haven't seen the first film? And how DARE you tease Cillian Murphy and then barely deliver, movie!

The Meteor Man
What Were They Thinking?
07/07/22 • 113 min
Back to the HOSTS picking the movies, damn it! This week, we start off a very special Super Summer Flopbuster season by talking all about the Robert Townsend superhero flick The Meteor Man. Is this silly superhero movie based in Republican logic? Why does this children's movie have so many drive-by shootings? Are satin baseball jackets and bleach-blonde hair really that scary for a gang? And how does this comedy manage to last 105 minutes with almost no jokes? Plus: it was very hard to find this movie and the guys talk about the shifty "real network" that seems to be the only place in the world that houses the film.

The Adventures of Pluto Nash
What Were They Thinking?
07/21/22 • 108 min
Another superhero summer movie... of sorts. This week, the guys wax poetic about the abysmal blockbuster comedy flop The Adventures of Pluto Nash. Why waste $100 million on THIS script!? Was Eddie Murphy napping during the entire production? What was with that sound effect that came on every time Randy Quaid spoke? Why did it seem like the dialogue mostly improvised (and badly at that)? A sexy robot maid? HOW DID THIS COST $100 MILLION!?

Cutthroat Island (w/Galen Howard)
What Were They Thinking?
05/19/22 • 117 min
Galen is back (this time as a guest) and joins the guys to discuss the Renny Harlin box-office bomb: Cutthroat Island. This episode answers the question: how many pirate voices is too many? They also discuss Frank Langella's amazing performance, the filthy innuendo throughout, less-than-zero chemistry from the leads, holding people at gunpoint with eels, the existence of quicksand and much more. Plus: Galen does an incredible Geena Davis impression.

Manos: The Hands of Fate
What Were They Thinking?
12/09/21 • 87 min
To celebrate 200 episodes of podcasting, the guys talk about Manos: The Hands of Fate, one of the all-time worst and most incomprehensible movies ever made. Despite that, how is this film linked with an Academy Award-winning screenwriter? Is Neil Breen a more competent filmmaker than Harold Warren? How about that incredibly bizarre "jazzy" soundtrack? And if you took out the pauses and awkward stares, would the movie be ten minutes long?

What Were They Thinking?
05/12/22 • 122 min
This week, the guys discuss the comic-book sequel The Return of Swamp Thing along with recurring guest and comic book aficionado Joshua Kotsabasakis. Does this movie pre-date The Shape of Water with a very sexy human/monster romance? You damn right it does! The guys get into ALL topics including Locklear's conversations with her houseplants, the two most annoying children on the planet, windows that lock from the outside, the single most bizarre (and source material-accurate) sex scene of all-time and much, much more.
