Luke Colson and Kyle Wise

BITE-SIZE PERSONAL STORIES OF SURVIVING LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCES: Hosted by Luke Colson and Kyle Wise, we feature weekly guests and explore extreme personal life changing experiences and the journey emotional and physical recovery. Each guest discusses their story of how their lives were turned upside down, by unexpected events. Stories like surviving a car crash, surviving abuse, being paralyzed in an accident, witnessing a crime.. and many more! Luke and Kyle will take an honest, raw, yet positive and hopeful approach, to really find out how these sudden events have effected our guests, and hear about the tools they use to overcome the subsequent struggle and adversity. We will focus on the journey to success and recovery, and hear stories of how our guests overcame trauma, and mental health challenges like ptsd, anxiety depression and phobias that have often lead to addiction, alcoholism, and disorders. While we will focus on the events themselves, and the lasting effects of these moments, our goal in this podcast is to concentrate on the positive journeys of resilience, recovery and hope that comes from these extraordinary stories. Join us for the ride of your life, and other peoples too! Why listen? We hope that our listeners will feel comfort, empowerment, strength and hope through this community of people and the stories we share. Everyone’s experiences are unique, but the circumstances around recovery and healing can be a shared and comforting journey. Katherine Marie gave birth to her twins at 25 weeks pregnancy, thats's 15 weeks premature! They were approx 1 lb in weight, and survived, although both have learning difficulties. Amazingly this wasn't the trauma or experience Katherine came on the show solely to discuss, it was of course a main part of her story, but she came on to tell us about her Breast Cancer diagnosis, her initial reaction, her fear,s her courage, and her battle to clear the cancer from her body through surgeries, and both chemo and radio-therapy. Now 'free of any cancer in her body' she speaks openly about what her diagnosis meant to her, to her kids and how they all got through!

Eric Bauberger has the most amazing story of a total re-assessing of his life, which all came about as a result of his Sister's overdose. Formerly a personal trainer, Eric was living in constant stress and moving at 100mph. His life was turned upside down one day when a phone call would lead him to his sisters bedside at hospital, where she was fighting for her life. Eric describes a sort of epiphany and total calming of all his senses, and there began, in that moment, a complete repurposing of everything he was about. We could have listened to Eric for hours, as he discusses meditation and total peace of mind.. yes please Eric!

Robin was from a 'normal' family, growing up in the Midlands in England through the eighties and nineties. He came out as gay in his late teens, and felt liberated. But, years of running away from his 'true self', would culminate in a shocking sequence of drug fueled events that would leave him minutes from death at Glastonbury Festival. 20 years on, Robin coaches kids, teens, and people from all walks of life, to help them better understand themselves and avoid making some of the mistakes he made. Epic.

Justin was traumatized after growing up with an abusive, alcoholic Father. He needed to get his story out there, so, he made a movie! In 'The Golden Age' (Amazon Prime) Justin plays a musician, on a journey, to recover from his troubled past. This episode is a deep dive into emotional trauma caused by tough parental relationships. As always, focusing on hope, and triumph!

Ivan Luiz Hernandez was born with a heart defect, yet defied all odds playing sports as a teen and working out six times a week into adulthood. One day, while living in New York at the pinnacle of his career, he was surprised to learn he needed open heart surgery and hid the operation from everyone he could. But that was only the beginning. Additional procedures, PTSD, and even agoraphobia would follow, with his journey developing into a “super power” he utilizes now in his newfound approach to life and as a business consultant, author, and entrepreneur. Mental Health awareness is such an important thing. A huge lack of understanding, and compassion, led to some seriously traumatizing situations in Lisa's Story. Next week, May 20th 2021, is Mental Health Action Day. Kyle and Luke are not experts, but we are learning a thing or two through these stories, and we hope you are too!
