Water, Wind, Wine Ministries's Podcast

Isaiah 54 is power packed... This chapter has something for everyone of us! Here are some of the highlights from this session:

1. Isaiah 54:5- God will be your Husband. I know it sounds a bit odd {especially if you are male and don’t particularly want a husband}, but the essence of the Word of God here is that God will provide for you all the things that a husband would normally provide a wife. In terms of sexual appetites, if you are unmarried, God will cause your sexual appetites to be sedated in order to help you maintain your commitment to purity. All that is needed to receive this blessing from God is to believe Him to the point that you begin to act as though Isaiah 54:5 is true in your life- because it is.

2. Isaiah 54:9- God will never again be angry with us nor rebuke us. When hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005, I heard a great many Christian leaders make comments that implied or overtly stated that God had been angry with the residents of New Orleans because of witchcraft and sin and thus sent a hurricane. First of all, if that were true, what would be the point of Jesus? God put everyone’s sin on Jesus. If He was just going to send destruction on humans who remained in sin, why did Jesus die? Further, if God caused natural disasters or calamity, evil, destruction of any kind, because of sin, He would be breaking His word as listed in Isaiah 54:9. What about the wrath of God spoken of in Revelation? Great question- here is a very brief response. In Revelation God speaks about the great tribulation and most people do not realize that the first half of the last 7 years are the wrath of the AntiChrist – not the wrath of God. The last half of course then is the wrath of God. I believe that the rapture is after the tribulation but before the wrath At the last day, God will have given everyone a chance to repent and follow Him. Once everyone has made their final decision, He rapture’s the church and pours out His wrath. This explains why Isaiah 54:9 states that God will not be angry with us- His people nor rebuke us- His people. It DOES NOT say that He won’t be angry at those who have chosen not to accept Jesus at that last hour.

As well, you may wonder why Peter was rebuked by Jesus if God said in Isaiah 54:9 that God would not rebuke us. This is a great question – if you read the text of Matthew 16:23 carefully, you will see that the Lord rebuked satan, not Peter! Also, with respect to the many times Jesus called the disciples those of little faith, he was not rebuking them, but reminding them of who they were. Remember, those with little faith can move mountains! Furthermore, in almost every instance in the new Testament, Jesus rebukes spirits- not people. He rebukes spirits of infirmity, deaf and dumb spirits, even spirits of unbelief.

3. Isaiah 54:13-God teaches our children and keeps them at peaceHave you ever wondered how in the world you were going to teach your children anything, let alone do it peacefully?! I know I have, and this verse gives me the assistance I have needed over the years. I simply claim this verse over my children, and I have seen such exponential growth, most people wouldn’t believe me if I told them!! Beloved remember this, God loves your children more than you do because they are also His children-not his grandchildren.

Thanks for tuning in.

Isaiah 60:22

Isaiah 60:22 is a verse that many people have asked about on Youtube, so I decided to answer their questions. This verse is a bilateral prophecy that foretells of the plight of Israel as a nation as well as Christianity. In terms of Israel, it shows us that Israel, although a small nation is among the most powerful on the earth and has multiplied exponentially in human genomes. As an extension, Christianity began as a relatively obscure and small religion that blossomed to an expanse so vast that it is the most widely known religion in the world. Both of the prophecies the Lord expresses in Isaiah 60:22, are further described as being hastened in their manifestation. The hastening of prophecy, incidentally, is always the heart of the Lord and His express possibility. The main reason that prophecy doesn’t generally manifest as quickly as we would like it to or assume it would is because of human influence and interference. In short, humans tend to get in the way and slow the processes of God down. The lesson is this verse is not to despise small beginnings but to relish them because it is, after all, the Lord who gives the increase!

Isaiah 55 | Abundance

Isaiah 55

There are many times in the New Testament that we read of a certain thing happening to fulfill a prophecy, or “what is written.” Generally we assume that all of those “what was writtens” have already been fulfilled and therefore can no longer be fulfilled. That is not the case with the blessings of God. When Jesus came, we received all of the blessing in spiritual places, so the way we get them to manifest in earthly places is by believing the promises of God and acting on our beliefs. The first verse I highlight in this session is verse 1. Essentially, verse 1 is the Old Testament equivalent of Matthew 6:33- Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all of these things will be added to you. The Lord then begins to “locate” our hearts by asking us in verse 2 why we waste time, energy and money seeking those things that are pointless. Those things that will never satisfy us. This is a question you need to ask yourself and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you through. While you are in a state of introspection, it is helpful to note that although you may believe you have “all the time in the world”, there will come a time when God can no longer be found. In particular, if you are not saved you will not always have the opportunity to be saved. God will not strive with the rebellious spirits of men forever so do not find yourself at the end of your life unable to get back to your creator.

In the second half of this chapter, the Lord shifts gears a bit and explains to us that His words are extremely poignant. They do not fail-ever. This is both a promise and a warning. If God tells you that there will be a time when He can’t be found then there will be. As well, if God says that we are blessed with something, then we are- No matter what we see. God iterates that His word can be likened to rain that goes to the earth and produces harvest, so His word goes to humanity and produces harvest. It returns to Him when it has accomplished why it was sent. We have never seen rain ascend back to heaven and we will never see God’s word be retracted back either. One benefit of this in particular is in the way of provision. I personally depend on God’s word to produce actual provision in my life. Finally, how do we know that we hear God, how do we know that the words spoken are His? The answer is in Verse 12. We can know that what/ who we hear is God if we follow the peace. There should be peace in our life when we are led by God. If there is no peace, it is not God!
