How Nordic Walking Benefits Mental Health with Joe Mairura

In episode 5, I talk to Joe Mairura. He spent 20 years working as a mental health practitioner first in hospitals, but mostly leading community and social care teams. In 2004 He joined the Department of Health, where he was responsible for implementing the Mental Health National Strategy for the Midlands Region, before setting up his own business in 2008 as coach, mentor and consultant to other self employed business owners in the Health and Social Care Sector. A qualified Nordic Walking Instructor, based in Derbyshire, he reminds us to think about looking after our mental health in the same way as we nurture our physical health.
