In this episode: Listen to a conversation between your host Vivienne Aerts and Israeli Born Bass player and composer Adi Meyerson as we talk about her creative projects, her ‘chordless trio’ and living in New York. About Adi Meyerson Adi Meyerson is a NY-based Bassist and composer. She was born in San Francisco, CA and at the age of two, she relocated with her family to Jerusalem, Israel, where she grew up and remained until moving to NY in 2012. Adi Studied at "The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music” and later on at “Manhattan School of Music” for her Masters. She studied with Master Musicians such as Ron Carter, Reggie Workman, Bob Cranshaw, Miguel Zenon, Jim Mcneely, Dave Leibman and worked with many greats such as Joel Frahm, Steve Nelson, Charli Persip, Ravi Coltrane and many others around the NYC area in highly renown venues such as Mezzrow, Smalls jazz, The Jazz Standard, Smoke, Birdland and others.She is A current member of the Bria Sconberg Band, Reginald Chapman's "Pressure Fit" and "Svetlana & the NYC collective", and actively tours and performs with many others around the US and the World. As a band leader and Composer, Meyerson has successfully made an impact on the NYC scene and earned her title as an up-and-coming young talent. In September 2017, She recorded her debut album "Where We Stand" which contains 9 original compositions all by Meyerson. The Album was very well received and Meyerson's music was referred to as "Intuitive and perspicacious, that displays a musical maturity that belies her newcomer status." Downbeat Magazine. The band has headlined the "Make some Noise" music festival in May 2016, Center City Jazz Festival in Philadelphia in 2019 as well as the international Guatemala Jazz Festival in 2019. Meyerson Has performed all over the US, Latin America and Canada with her band. About Simona Smirnova

Simona Smirnova is a Lithuanian-born vocalist, composer and kanklės player based in New York City. A global ambassador for the Lithuanian national instrument kanklės, she is currently the only professional kanklės player in the United States! Simona is a fixture in the New York live scene with her band when she’s not touring the world, including Australia, New Zealand and Europe. She deftly implements Lithuanian zither – kanklės and folk melodies into foundations of jazz, pop and electronic music. Always on the road, always charming and smiling, Simona is a true artistic soul that effervescently represents diversity and passion for arts.

Smirnova’s genre-bending style has a unique theatrical flavor and uncanny vocal improvisation techniques. She deftly implements chamber music, Lithuanian zither – kanklės and folkloric chants into foundations of jazz and rock.

Cobby has performed her music all over the ast and West Coast, and has been gaining recognition as an emerging artist. She is a 2018 graduate of Berklee College of Music and a 2013 graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy and a 2023 San Diego Music Award Nominee for Best Jazz Album. Cobby is currently based in San Diego, CA and is working on her newest album, Florida Sunshine, which will be a 12 song album that returns her back to singer/songwriter roots.
