Episode 34: Productivity
Vital Evolution
11/11/22 • 21 min
Last episode we discussed Being Your Comeback. I thought this might be helpful to keep you going on your 7-day commitment to a new life.
· Productivity starts with planning. Set aside time to plan each day/week. Once written, don’t have to focus on it in your brain. You won’t forget it.
· Bite-size. Easy to get overwhelmed with a giant to-do list.
· One thing at a time.
· Identify barriers. Often we only focus on what we will do vs what we need to
· Maintenance is easier than dealing with a pile. Create a system that helps YOU (grocery list)
· Routine. If you don’t like routine, reflect on what is driving that dislike...usually a fear (failure, be like so-and-so, etc.).
· We don’t often need as much motivation if there is a routine.
· Consumption – how are you feeding your mind-body-spirit-relationships? Energy comes from those areas.
· Let your identity guide you. Not whether or not you completed something or how perfect you completed it.
· 15 minute podcast can’t hit every area of motivation and productivity, but if you can take one thing away to help you in your 7-day challenge then that to me is worth it.
How do these tips help you LEAD Lucky? leaders can be more overwhelmed than the team...take even one nugget away. Or you can invite your team into them...

Episode 29: The 7 Deadly Sins
Vital Evolution
10/31/22 • 22 min
Watching Supernatural (CW Season 3). 7 Deadly Sins.
· Perhaps a new way of viewing behaviors or “sins.” (pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, sloth)
· Behaviorism posits that our behaviors identify us. Ex. “good/bad” behaviors = “Good/bad” person. B/W view
· Most view sins as bad/evil or unwanted behaviors. Is killing a sin? Could be an accident. What about war or protecting your family? The ethical dilemma of killing one to save a billion?
· So easy to label others based on behavior because we cannot see their intangible motivation.
· Medieval Catholic Church Cardinal Sins: Different way to view 7 deadly sins:
o Pride: basing identity on behavior. Needing to prove Self-worth through behaviors. (vs Confident)
o Greed: basing identity on financial status. Needing to prove self-worth thru money. (vs Wealthy)
o Lust: basing identity on how we feel and an unhealthy strategy for dealing with emotions (boredom, anxiety, loneliness, disappointment).
o Envy: basing identity on status via comparing. Needing to prove self-worth by being better than someone else (vs
o Gluttony: Extreme scarcity and unhealthy strategy for dealing with emotions (boredom, anxiety, loneliness, disappointment). (moderation)
o Wrath: Basing identity on what has been done to you by others. Unforgiveness.
o Sloth: Extreme fear...paralyzing.
· Not perfect. Trying to show that the importance is the motivation underlying the behavior.
How does identity help you LEAD Lucky? behaviors don’t define us. Start with curiosity...

Episode 13: What is your Boggart?
Vital Evolution
09/19/22 • 14 min
In the intro of our podcast, I talk about facing the worst of yourself...well today is one of those days...we are going to discuss Fear. There are so many ways to learn and grow from Fear. Today we will look at it through the lens of Harry Potter...
· In the Movie the Prisoner of Azkaban. Harry and his fellow student wizards are faced with a locked wardrobe of sorts. The scene begins by drawing you into fear as you hear the wardrobe shake from whatever mysterious entity is locked inside. The teacher asks, does anyone know what is inside. One student answers that it is a Boggart. Hermine, of course, follows, stating, as she does, that no one knows what a Boggart looks like because they present as your greatest fear. For the first student, it presents as the feared Professor Snape. The teacher instructs him that whatever he thinks the rest of the class will see when he casts the Ridiculus spell. He casts the spell, and Professor Snape is then dressed in his grandmother’s clothes, and everyone laughs. Another student fears giant spiders and, with the spell, puts roller skates on the spider...you get the picture...
· What is the point here? These 13yo students face their worst fear. Most of them would have rather just left it in the locked wardrobe. If they had, what would have happened...nothing would have changed/fear would have still won...they would have still kept fearing the thing lingering in the unknown. Avoidance is not a helpful strategy.
· For me, and for many, I imagine, my greatest fear was that I wasn’t enough. I spent so many years trying to work harder, be nicer, and give more...where did it get me? I can tell you it didn’t make me feel good about myself, it didn’t attract people to me, I didn’t get my needs met, and the stress of it all probably contributed to being diagnosed with leukemia. I was living in fear all the time.
· What is your Boggart? Perhaps you need to face the fear of having a discussion with someone...your best friend, your spouse, your kids...Maybe yours is more internal like mine was. Maybe you are angry, resentful, and aggressive, which is the other end of the pendulum from where I was...both equally damaging in different ways.
· I can share my story because that is not who I AM anymore...that person is only my past. Not my present or my future.
· I was talking to someone the other day, and we got to laughing at the fears she was having...
How does facing your Boggart help you LEAD Lucky? It will allow you to be who you want to be as a leader: confident, connected, and able to set consequences and boundaries more easily. IT will also help you catch people doing good to positively reinforce behavior and build the feeling of a team. The team needs to trust you. They need to trust that you can handle their junk...and not get phased by it. If your team is your family and you are the parent...

Hello, all of you incredible beings! I’m Dr. Blake Suzelis. Welcome to Vital Evolution! I have some exciting news...I just released my first Vital Evolution retreat! It will be in Sedona, AZ March 13-16. This is a Level One retreat. Meaning, anyone who desires to embody the healed version of themselves can sign up. The only pre-requisite is taking the online 2-hour Introductory Class, which is found on the website. I am offering an early bird coupon code for the retreat that expires February 10th, which gives you $200 off. The code is VE200EarlyBird! If you have questions about it, check out the FAQ videos on the site or email [email protected]. Ok, let’s dive into the content of the day. Today we are looking at the spiritual dimension of healing.
·Why is spirituality important to discuss when learning how to heal the body?
o RESEARCH: extent spirituality played a role in SCR: 92 mean, 92 median, 100 mode, 100H, 80L
o 81% of the participants experienced “spiritual healing, awakening, or enlightenment”
o 2 spiritual milestones: included oneness within and oneness with everything.
·Animalistic brain/emotional/survival brain (we are 90% animal)
o Hedonism. Pleasure/pain drive us.
o Allow us to understand our likes/dislikes
·Cognitive brain/thinking/choice: not dictated by emotions. Influence sure. We choose unpleasant all the time because we see an outcome. Example, marketing.
o Religion/Fatih: Mind. Set of beliefs. Meaning-making.
o Science – Curiosity is supposed to lead research w/out emotion. Only mental. Looks through the lens of materialism, which doesn’t leave room for the unseen.
o Not to downplay the mind...it is powerful! Imagination. Creativity. Curiosity.
o When you learn how to program your mind, that too enhances your experience.
·Spirituality: Body/Experience/Intuitive Heart
o Science and spirituality = same goal of healing the body. Both take surrender.
o Probable vs Possible
o Spiritual = experience. Connected to everything, through quantum entanglement.
·ALL THREE ARE PART OF THE PROCESS. After we master our intuition there will be more...controlling body temperature, telepathy, levitation, altering matter, remembering past lives.
o Wim Hof, or “The Iceman,” claimed 21 world records for extreme cold exposure, including hiking the tallest mountain in the world in shorts, completing a half marathon barefoot in shorts above the Arctic Circle, submerging in ice cubes for 112 minutes, and diving 66 meters underneath ice, to name a few
o Jetsun Milarepa, a Tibetan yogi saint, who in meditation, pushed his hands into the solid rock of Drakar Taso Cave up to his elbow, which draws travelers from around the globe to place their hands in the imprints
· Big Takeaways: Calm your animalistic brain, surrender your mind, and engage with your intuition.
· Email or message me with questions I can answer...
I’m so grateful to every one of you who received this message today. Sending you all love! And I’ll see you soon!

Episode 73: Death by Suicide
Vital Evolution
05/06/23 • 17 min
Today is a different take on the question “What is Possible?” Warning...don’t listen if you want to avoid growth in the area of death by suicide. Yesterday I was asked to do another episode because it has been a couple weeks. I know this beautiful human was not expecting such a heavy subject, especially knowing that suicide has affected her in such an intimate way. What I didn’t tell her is that 6 days ago a friend of mine on the other side of the country died by suicide. While I’m recording this, he is being buried. This is for you Joe and anyone else who has died by suicide. I’m offering this episode as a way for him to live on, positively influencing as many people who listen to this...
· Most of us walk around with masks on. Some are more elaborate and cover more than others, but we all do it. Ex. anxiety about work, relationship pain, feeling inadequate as a parent, fearing being a burden, etc.
· Why do we do it? (safety, acceptance, and love)
· What if we were seen for who we really are?
o Our bodies are just our vehicles.
· It is so easy to ask why people do suicide...We are all accomplices in every death by suicide...we are not creating an environment were people feel safe to explore and express themselves fully. They cannot trust that they will be accepted for being a little different than what they were told to be (generations). They cannot trust that they will be loved beyond their problematic vehicles. That’s on me, you, all of us. NO ONE PERSON, ALL OF US!
· It is so hard to hear, but the most religious and spiritual groups tend to the biggest culprits.
· Every time we look down at someone for the way they look or dress, judge them for a tattoo, piercing, hairstyle, judge them for the way their vehicle is not properly working, criticize them for how they “should” be doing things, find fault in how they are coping with their pain
· Faulty vehicles (emotional brain). We can see the world as bunch of broken vehicles or see the infinite souls that reside in the bodies.
· We know why we do it. We don’t feel safe. When we don’t feel safe, we try to control everything around us or just avoid an distract ourselves so we can create a sense of safety/security within us.
· I’m not asking you to start a non-profit, join a group, or volunteer every Saturday. It starts with the way you treat yourself. I may not have shown it today, but I have a lot of empathy for us because I know those who are the most judgement and critical with the world are the worst to themselves. For the group that avoids facing those inner shadows and thinks they are loving others...hear me, listening and understanding communicates love more than telling them what to do or how to do their lives. Again, this is just a reflection of your fears...you fear not being enough for the person in front of you. Again, you feel unsafe. You don’t have to make this about you. Make it truly about them. Genuinely listen, understand, and ask what they need. Most times, by the time you get to the question of “what do you need?” you have already give it to them. You were the gift.
· So this is my ask for Joe and all the others who have died by suicide. Treat yourself well enough to where you don’t have to judge others to feel safe. Create a safe, accepting, and loving environment within yourself for yourself so that everyone around you can take off the masks. Otherwise, we may never see who is really beneath the mask.
· If you need help understanding how to create this type of environment for yourself or others, find a guide. LLT is a self-guided option.

Episode 64: Dr. Bruce Lipton - The Biology of Belief Part 3
Vital Evolution
01/23/23 • 27 min
The final installment of Dr. Bruce Lipton’s The Biology of Belief. So far, we discussed the Ch 1-4 (cell biology, how the environmental signal outside tells the genes how to express/ build proteins, and how epigenetics supports Quantum Physics. We’re going to cover the last few chapters today and start Jim Kwik’s Limitless next.
· Hypnosis – how can hypnosis help people? Ex. Dr. Albert Mason – using hypnosis to treat a 15yo boy for warts (congenital ichthyosis – lethal genetic disease)
· Placebo – perception effect
o Dr. Mosely 2002 – knee surgery vs fake surgery (can before to playing basketball w/ grandchildren)
o Depression – U of Connecticut psychology professor Irving Kirsch (2002) “found that 80% of the effects of antidepressants, as measured in clinical trials, could be attributed to the placebo effect.” 6 leading antidepressant companies.
o Langer (2009) – change in the perceptions of time can lead to physiological and mental “youthing”
· Nocebo – negative suggestions that can damage health
o Dr Meador – “He died with cancer, but not from cancer.” (1974)
How can the mind override genetic programming?
· Unconscious mind – drives 95% of body functioning (stimulus-response programs)
· Conscious mind/ creative mind – drives 5% of body functioning (desires, dreams, aspirations)
· Mind/Emotion (energy) – activate or inhibit cell’s function-producing proteins (constructive/growth and destructive/protective interference)
o “Simply thinking positive thoughts doesn’t necessarily lead to physical cures”
o Reprogramming the subconscious mind is what is needed. Emotional/mental environment that you create.
o “Stress is responsible for up to 90% of all doctor visits”
§ “Perceptions of how scary the world is.”
o Loneliness/isolation: gene expression shows sharply different gene expression...many of which play roles in inflammatory immune responses.
§ Chronic interpersonal difficulties accentuate expression of pro- and anti-inflammatory signaling molecules.”
· Chapter on Parenting and how genetics are affected from conception.
· Spirit and Science – history of split in late 1500s/early 1600s Descartes’ scientific method, Copernicus’ sun-centered universe, Darwin’s theory of evolution survival by any means. Shares his interesting view of spirit identity and reincarnation. Global community in cooperation vs survival at all costs.
What I’ve learned:
o I need to focus on creating a growth/healing environment inside while in meditation and the rest of the day. I want my trillions of cells to live in a happy environment.

Episode 58: Dr. Bruce Lipton - Biology of Belief Part 1
Vital Evolution
01/09/23 • 23 min
Dr. Bruce Lipton. Cell biologist. Taught at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and pioneered studies at Stanford University School of Medicine. International speaker. He primarily studied the character of cloned stem cells. First 45 pages...chapters 1 and 2.
· Our belief that genes control the outcome of our life is not true.
o Human Genome Project expected 120k genes, but we have about 25k, which is the same as rodents.
o “Single-gene disorders affect less than 2% of the population
o Nucleus is the reproductive organ of the cell, not the brain. They can last 2+ months without a nucleus. But they can’t reproduce or heal themselves.
o The changing of the protein’s electromagnetic field (charges of amino acids) is responsible for their behavior-generating movement
o Stem cell research – the environment of cells determined the function and structure of cells, not genes.
· Darwin. Competition and survival of the fittest. The created belief that “Life is an unending war among battling, biochemical robots.”
· Cooperation in nature. We are a “cooperative community of approximately 50 trillion single-celled citizens.”
o “Each cell is an intelligent being that can survive on its own.” (intent, purpose, seek environments of survival, behave according to their environment, learning, memory).
o “Genes are the physical memories of an organism’s learned experiences.”
· WE ARE NOT A VICTIM OF OUR GENES! “Life as a cooperative journey among powerful individuals who can program themselves to create joy-filled lives.” Therefore, we are not a victim of our life!
· We think we HAVE to live in genetic determinism...you get to choose

Episode 54: What to do?!
Vital Evolution
12/28/22 • 18 min
I often talk with individuals trying to make a decision about some aspect of their life. Ex. Young adult picking their future path, parents deciding how to love and discipline, adults deciding how to best care for their elderly parent, individuals deciding how to better a relationship, teenagers deciding how to best share something impactful with their parents...the list goes on. A research study at Cornell University reports that we make 35K decisions per day. With all of these decisions, it can be really difficult to choose what to do.
· What gets in the way of decision making?
· Mental: Two main cognitive distortions-
§ Black and White Thinking. Ex. Right or wrong = accepted or not accepted.
§ Shoulding. Ex. Other’s expectations.
· Emotional: often Fear of Failure (underlying both of these cognitive distortions).
· What helps with indecision?
· Calming the emotional brain to access the thinking brain.
· Identity and indecision:
§ External – filter by what others think/feel/do or environment
§ Internal – decide who you want to be and use this as filter.
· No blame. No shame. No guilt. Only learning.
· New Perspective – looking at things from different angles
How does understanding indecision help you LEAD Lucky? Who are the decision makers? Leaders! Gather all puzzle pieces, learn what you can, calm brain, filter through identity filter/business filter, and trust choice...right or wrong...good or bad outcome...know that you did the best you could with the information you had using this process.

Episode 52: The Four Deaths Part 3
Vital Evolution
12/23/22 • 18 min
In the last two episodes, we discussed the first two deaths (mental and emotional). The third death is physical. People really don’t like this one, but it is necessary if you want to step into the best version of yourself fully.
· As a celebration of Christmas and New Years coming up, I want to offer a discount for LLT. From now until the end of the year. Instead of $30 per month, it will only be $20 per month. Offer as a gift...The time is now! Use discount code NEWME23. If needing to use up any employee health funds, please consider the annual membership.
· Disclaimer. Death to physical is NOT suicide. You are loved! Death to things controlling your life...
· The death of the physical is overcoming the physical urges/warning signals of the body. Overcoming the fight, flight, or freeze response in the nervous system. This allows you to be courageous yet not reckless.
o Food – fasting. Overcome the body’s survival fear of starving.
o Sleep – pushing past. Overcoming the body’s survival fear of not being able to function/have enough energy. IMPORTANT: I don’t suggest doing this ongoing because your physical body needs sleep, but we don’t want to be driven by the fear that if we don’t get a good night’s sleep, we will be a wreck the next day.
o Stress Response – calming amygdala. Overcoming the psychological fear response, which is different than an actual threat. Discussed death of mental (pain)...
o Whatever you can’t live without controls you...(sex). Need vs want.
· Different from not listening to your body. Doing things very deliberately so you are not driven by fear.
How does death to physical help you LEAD Lucky? You don’t have to be driven by the body and what it feels. IF you are driven by fear/stress, your emotional brain takes over and you cannot concentrate, focus, or think straight... As the leader, you need your thinking brain in tact because everyone is looking to you for the path forward.

Episode 45: Meaning of Life
Vital Evolution
12/07/22 • 18 min
What is one of the most important questions you could ever ask yourself? What is the meaning of life? Now, I’m not here to tell you the answer to this question because you are the only one that can answer this for yourself. It is your life! No one gets to tell you this answer. No one to blame then, either.
· How does your answer to this question affect you?
o Drives your motivationsàbeliefsàemotionsàbehaviors and relationships
o Ex. Being happy. Loving others. Accumulating wealth. Living purely.
· If you don’t have an answer to this question...or you do not believe there is meaning to life...
o First, you will find something (most likely be happy. Way you go about that might be different)
o If you didn’t have an answer: you will go about aimless without an answer to this question...
· You don’t get to tell others what it is for them. No control only influence. Share your story. They decide what to take away. Same for you.
· When basing the answer of the meaning of life on what you do versus who you are, things can get mixed up.
o What you do changes over time...you will never have perfect behaviors/actions
· Be careful to base your answer on something that stays constant. What you do changes...
o Ex. Growth & learning through experience is consistent.
How does your answer to “what is the meaning of life” help you LEAD Lucky? Allows you to prioritize your life better. If profit is the meaning of life versus guiding others to their best selves under your leadership then how you lead will be different.
