CHERRIES HOPES CRUSHED - AFC Bournemouth 0-2 Liverpool - Did Referee Help Reds Destroy Our Dreams?
UTCIAD - Up The Cherries In All Departments - AFC Bournemouth Podcast
02/02/25 โข 34 min
Prior to this match, AFC Bournemouth fans were in a buoyant mood. The club had demolished Nottingham Forest 5-0 at home a week beforehand (and this is a Nottingham Forest team who just before we took to the pitch, in the early kick off, thrashed Brighton and Hove Albion 7-0 at the City Ground!)
We could be forgiven thinking we might actually upset the League Leaders, a Liverpool team who have been so dominant in every competition they have played in, pretty much every game and with Mo Salah back on fire hitting the back of the net in every game he plays.
However it wasn't to be and there was plenty of controversy as after the half hour mark, Darren England the referee in the middle, gave the Reds a penalty kick which was cooly dispatched by the Egyptian who should get the Ballon D'or. But did Lewis Cook actually touch Cody Gakpo as multiple angles give contrasting thoughts.
David Brooks also had the ball in Liverpool's net but his fantastic strike was ruled out due to an offside by Milos Kerkez in the build up.
Justin Kluivert could have had a goal but missed the target before Mo scored the second, a beautiful strike, to send the Reds and Arne Slot back to Merseyside happy.
We welcomed on Jack McIndoe from Anfield Index and Anfield Road TV to discuss the game and the big decisions and what he thought of the Cherries. We go through each decision with different perspectives and cover off the star performers in the game.
Let us know what you think of the match and the decisions in the comments below and we thank Jack for joining us on this show.

BATTLE FOR EUROPE? - Are Nottingham Forest & AFC Bournemouth SERIOUSLY Off To The Continent? Preview
UTCIAD - Up The Cherries In All Departments - AFC Bournemouth Podcast
01/22/25 โข 33 min
That win over Newcastle United last weekend has got AFC Bournemouth fans dreaming. Its Europe in reach? It appears Andoni Iraola and Bill Foley planned a lot more this season than some of the fanbase who would have been happy finishing tenth.
Finishing tenth now probably would be a disappointment!
However one other team have had a season that even we can be jealous of. And that team is Nottingham Forest. The City Ground has become a fortress. Its a long way from our visit there at the start of the 2021/22 season where Forest found themselves marooned in the relegation places in the CHAMPIONSHIP! We all know what happened later that season as we both celebrated promotion back to the top flight.
We enjoyed speaking with Adam from the leading Forest podcast Red Side Of The Trent to revel in the journey and how Cherries fans and Forest fans need to start renewing their passports.
Lets hope we can both do it!
(Lets hope its not too windy though shall we Forest fans...)

MATT LE TISSIER - TALKING LE TISS - Matt's Career From The Dell To Sky, Beliefs & Saints v Cherries
UTCIAD - Up The Cherries In All Departments - AFC Bournemouth Podcast
09/26/24 โข 68 min
There are very few one club players in football. Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Mark Noble to name a few. However Southampton had one of their own back in the 1990's and bloody hell wasn't he an outstanding player.
Matt Le Tissier travelled over from his native Guernsey to the South Coast (after almost signing for Oxford United as a YTS) and joined Southampton. And he has never left Hampshire since.
This is the man who made The Dell a frightening proposition. A man who scored over 160 goals in over 400 games. And he only missed ONE penalty in his whole career despite having almost 50 opportunities from the spot.
Matt discusses with us THAT goal against Blackburn Rovers where he hit it from 40 yards, THAT free kick against Wimbledon where he flicked the ball up before striking it and THAT game against Manchester United where the Saints tore the Red Devils apart so much that Sir Alex Ferguson had to make an excuse of the grey shirts instead of applauding Saints who steamrolled his side (oh and then they won 6-3 the following season as well, although admittedly Craig got them mixed up!)
We discuss the journey with Sky and presenting Soccer Saturday with Jeff Stelling and the original crew. We also discuss Matt's departure from the studio and whether he gets on with Jamie Carragher after leaving.
Matt also discusses his beliefs and we discuss freedom of speech before looking at Southampton's journey back to the Premier League and the current setup and if Matt would be happy to see new Tyler Dibling replicate what he did for the club. Matt also has his say on AFC Bournemouth as a club and the journey we have taken.
So enjoy this interview where Craig Beazley discusses Saints and Cherries with Le God - a man held in such high regard in the Premier League and relive some of his greatest moments.
We would like to thank Matt Le Tissier for joining us on this show.

MATHEW PRIEST - DODGY - THE REDS ARE GOOD ENOUGH - Dodgy Drummer Discusses Career & Liverpool Hopes
UTCIAD - Up The Cherries In All Departments - AFC Bournemouth Podcast
09/15/24 โข 61 min
We return to Anfield, a place where AFC Bournemouth do not have much luck to take on a Liverpool side now managed by Arne Slot who has got off to a very good start in Merseyside. As a musical city, there is no shortage of bands who originate from the city and whilst our next guest's band doesn't originate from Liverpool itself, they are a band who are actively linked.
Craig Beazley spoke with Dodgy drummer Mathew Priest about his career with the band who span 30 years and counting, a band who have released 6 albums and have had numerous hit songs including Good Enough which was released at the height of Britpop in 1996.
Mathew discussed his time with The Lightning Seeds and working with Ian Broudie both on his first album but also performing with the band at the Hillsborough Justice concert at Anfield when Three Lions was in the charts! We also discussed Mathew's inspirations and whats next for the band plus loads and loads more.
Ahead of the game we also look at Jurgen Klopp leaving the club and Arne Slot arriving plus if he is happy with Richard Hughes and the activity during the summer.
We hope you enjoy this interview with a staple of the Britpop years. We thank Mathew for joining us on this show!

KIERAN MAGUIRE - PRICE OF FOOTBALL - Finance Expert On PSR, Gambling Sponsors & Cherries Finances
UTCIAD - Up The Cherries In All Departments - AFC Bournemouth Podcast
07/29/24 โข 41 min
AFC Bournemouth last year recorded a ยฃ44Million Pre-Tax Profit which meant apart from Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester City, the Cherries made the most in the financial year. Well on the accounts...
Craig Beazley welcomed back onto the show Football Finance Expert and the star of The Price Of Football Kieran Maguire to discuss whether the club are financially well run.
We also discuss the new sponsor, gambling company bj88 and the background behind the company and whether there is a necessity for AFC Bournemouth to dance with the devil.
We also look at Cherries new Canford Magna training ground and ask whether the club need a Category 1 Academy. We look at Profit and Sustainability Rules - also known as PSR - and whether we could fall foul of this and if there are any clubs who could do. We look at the transfer dealings between a number of clubs to get round the rules. And finally the disparity between the top 6 or 7 and the rest of the league.
Ipswich Town fans will also be interested as we look at how a club like the Tractor Boys even possibly survive against the riches of the rest of the league. And Everton and Leicester City fans will be keen to listen in as we cover off potential points deductions for both.
Let us know what you think about Cherries sponsorship, finances and PSR.

SACK SOUTHGATE NOW! - Bring In Eddie Howe Mid Tournament!
UTCIAD - Up The Cherries In All Departments - AFC Bournemouth Podcast
06/26/24 โข 15 min
England pulled out the hat a third drab performance as they drew 0-0 with Slovenia in Cologne, adding to the disappointing 1-1 draw against Denmark and the slender and lucky 1-0 win over Serbia. However questions have to be asked - if England were in a better group with better teams, would we be on the plane home?
We know we have the golden generation of England footballers with the likes of Bakayo Saka, Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice and Phil Foden. No manager since 1966 has been as lucky to have so much talent at their disposal.
However Gareth Southgate is making an absolute mockery of this talented squad by scraping through a poor group with terrible deep defensive performances with easily one of the best, if not the best, attacking England sides in history. In fact in terms of attack England can only be challenged by Brazil and there is no concern of them winning Euro 2024.
So what could England do. Craig Beazley explains WHY Gareth Southgate needs to be sacked mid tournament and why Eddie Howe needs to be given the reigns for now at least.
We have the Margot Robbie of International Sides but we are playing like Mavis from the Pub!
Let us know what you think. Can England win Euro 2024 in Germany or is there no hope left?

UTCIAD - Up The Cherries In All Departments - AFC Bournemouth Podcast
01/14/24 โข 40 min
In 2017, just before Reading Football Club faced Huddersfield Town in the Championship Playoff Final, the purchase was completed of this once well ran club. It was the third time the football club changed hands since Sir John Madejski's steady and successful ownership.
Fast forward to 2023 and Reading FC, the club which were once the staple of how to run a football club, are in absolute turmoil having been deducted 16 points over the past few seasons.
Here, Craig, who was born in Reading and grew up supporting the Royals before moving to a town with a club in crisis themselves - AFC Bournemouth - in 2008 explains the situation and what needs to happen plus Sell Before We Dai the excellent fans group trying to force the change...
During the video we mention an extract from Mike Gow. Please read this here - https://twitter.com/mikeygow/status/1746344764499226881
Images used of the protest thanks to Luke Adams. Please find him here - https://twitter.com/ladamscricket

WILL SOUTHAMPTON BREAK THE LOWEST POINTS RECORD? - Alex Le Tissier On Saints Shocking Season PREVIEW
UTCIAD - Up The Cherries In All Departments - AFC Bournemouth Podcast
02/13/25 โข 35 min
Southampton fans have largely accepted their fate as the season gets closer to its conclusion. Most accepted relegation was not a possibility but a formality in December. But here we are, with our local rivals who some Cherries fans like to "love to hate but miss them when they disappear" facing relegation straight on in the face.
Saints have a measly 9 points and dread breaking Derby County's 11 points reached in 2007/08 in what most say was the worst ever Premier League side.
So are Southampton contenders for the list you don't want to be on?
Actually, our guest and good friend, Alex Le Tissier doesn't think so. Alex explains why she doesn't believe it to be the case and who she really blames for the failings at St Mary's.
Alex also talks about AFC Bournemouth and what she makes of the Cherries rise and if there is such a gulf between the Premier League and the Championship and why she isn't too fussed about the Saints dropping into the second tier.
Let us know what you think will be the score!
