The CIA has been in bed with Hollywood for decades. Eric Hunley and Mark Groubert present America's Untold Stories where we explore cultural figures and history that is often under-appreciated or overlooked.
Operation Mockingbird, the Cold War CIA program to infiltrate the American media is supposedly long gone. But is it really?
Between 2006 and 2011, the CIA’s Office of Public Affairs (OPA) was involved in at least 22 of the U.S. entertainment industry’s projects. Some of the productions included the films Argo and Zero Dark Thirty and television shows like Top Chef and Covert Affairs. We spend extra time on "The Recruit" which was written originally by Mark.

Shane really knows his stuff when it comes to influencer marketing. And his knowledge isn’t theoretical -- he works directly with influencers like Zoe Rodriguez, Chris Ruden, and others. A bit more about Shane: He is the author of “How to Build a Successful Influencer Marketing Program,” and has published a valuable guide offering a step-by-step blueprint to help brands connect with the right influencers (could make for great conversation points in the podcast)! Also, he teaches the first-ever influencer marketing course for UCLA.

He’s spoken extensively about influencer marketing around the world. Recent speaking engagements include Influencer Marketing Days in New York City, the first-ever Influencer Summit in Mexico, and Influencer Marketing Hub’s Influencer Marketing Conference where he was one of 10 invited speakers. This was a fun lively interview with a fascinating marketer. I can do any better than his own published biography:

Kasim (rhymes with "awesome") Aslam is the Founder & CEO of Solutions 8 (a Digital Marketer Certified Partner, Infusionsoft Certified Partner, and Official Google Partner) and the author of "The 7 Critical Principles of Effective Digital Marketing."
As a digital marketer and strategist, he has worked with the largest privately owned bank in the U.S., a 54,000 member PPO, a Gates Foundation funded non-profit, and an Academy Award Contending documentary. He helped to build, launch and market the National Association of Child Helplines (NAACH).
He has worked on a contract basis with the United States Army, Intel and Pearson Education. Kasim has been published across multiple networks including CRM Magazine, Search Engine Journal, Social Media Today, Emergent Path and Explore B2B.
As a speaker Kasim has shared the stage with Ray Grainger (CEO: Mavenlink.com), Ryan Deiss (CEO: DigitalMarketer.com), Greg S. Reid (International best-selling author: "Three feet from Gold"), Jeff Hoffman (Co-Founder: Priceline.com), David Conklin (CMO: Income Store) and Ken Courtright (CEO: Today's Growth Consultant).
Kasim enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, reading, traveling, playing basketball, and writing thinly veiled, narcissistic lists of his feeble accomplishments.
