Choreographer Colleen Thomas’s work “Light and Desire” draws on themes of family history, social politics and her own experiences. She also calls it “an act of resistance,” pushing back against oppressive forces. It debuted at New York Live Arts in September 2021. Contributor Trina Mannino spoke with Thomas about the piece.
