UNSEEN: The Trafficked Truth Podcast - S3 EP 11 | Facts & Truths: My inner child knows the truth w/ Survivor Antares
play

06/11/21 • 56 min

Honored to support survivors during Mental health Awareness month. Unseen was able to provide a safe space for Antare's truths as it his first time speaking publicly of depression, suffering in silence, child sexual abuse and intrafamilial trafficking. He will share that speaking up and saying it loudly helps along the healing journey AND so does journaling. He states writing and journaling saved him, sharing the power of pen to paper, and that with every word there is healing. The dark truths of intrafamilial trafficking perpetrated by his father for evil pleasure and not money continues to raise cause for concern and immediate attention and awareness. More people should know the truths of trafficking and how it affects many people, some that are still suffering and trying to understand the complexities of what happened to them.

Disclaimer: Much like the previous episodes particularly in Season 2, this is a definite Trigger Warning! Listener discretion is advised, and material discussed is not intended for audiences under 18 years of age.
Almost 11 years after the 2009 take down of an Upland Park Police Department, Victoria spoke with Donah Sandford. The survivor, woman, business owner, warrior and more who was able to get a federal and civil conviction on a police officer who was a criminal trafficker. Donah shares her heroic story (around 15:00 minutes and very triggering around 33:00 minutes) of the legal process and what she did to face a criminal dressed in blue. How Donah was able to bring light to a tragic scheme of violence against sex workers , where 15 other survivors came forward. Victoria trembles through trying to summarize the story for listeners and bring up how to pay attention to Donahs story of a charge that needs to be widespread against some of the people dressed in blue and that is " VIOLATION OF CIVIL RIGHTS UNDER THE COLOR OF LAW".Listen to learn more.

UNSEEN: The Trafficked Truth Podcast - S3 EP 8 | Facts & Truths: Facing Evil and Winning w/ Anonymous Male Survivor Pt. 1
play

05/28/21 • 23 min

Description: Warning: Listener Discretion is Highly Advised. Content is not suitable for young audiences. Mature Listeners Only.
We know what Unseen is about... and we dont need to tell you sex trafficking, labor trafficking, pedophilia rings, and other malicious sex cults are evil, dark, and scary. But there are survivors that overcome and have faced those evils and telling their story of surviving, is winning and needed. Listen to a silenced story of painful memories of being adopted by individuals who forced trafficking upon a child and found ways to suppress, silence, and bury his voice for many years. He speaks after realizing last year that he can now speak and share his story to reach that other male, hetero survivors who may also be silencing their story. He will describe the hard, dark truths of grooming ,conditioning by ways of drugs like trading, mental health lapses such as dissociation and having a disability brought on by the former legal guardians (We cant even call them parents, adopted parents, or caregivers).
So much information was discussed that it was decided to break it into two parts. Dont forget to check out Part 2.
