The Dugout
Unresolved
09/16/24 • 54 min
On the morning of March 6th, 2012, the body of thirteen-year-old Jessica Funk-Haslam was found inside a locked baseball dugout at a public park. Jessica, who went to school just a stone's throw away from this park, had been acting up in the months before her death. She had begun rebelling - as most teenagers do - but had begun hanging around a rather rough crowd. In a final act of defiance, she had stormed out of her mother's apartment without telling her where she was going or who she was meeting up with.
Over the next several years, detectives would struggle to determine why Jessica had been targeted by a particularly violent killer. It wasn't until August of 2014 that investigators began to set their sights on a suspect: a young man named Ryan Roberts...

Linda Malcom
Unresolved
01/23/23 • 61 min
In the early morning hours of 30 April 2008, authorities in Kitsap County, Washington were contacted by residents in Port Orchard. There, along the 1100 block of Sidney Avenue, a fire had broken out, and just before 4:00 AM that Wednesday, the flames had become evident to sleeping neighbors.
Firefighters quickly put out the flames and discovered the remains of the woman that lived inside, 47-year-old Linda Malcom. A Navy veteran, Linda had lived in the home for over a decade, and was prepared to move to nearby Bremerton just days later. Yet, before she could take this next step in her life, an unknown subject had stabbed her to death and then set her longtime home on fire...
Special thanks to Jennifer Bucholtz and George Jared, who have taken on Linda's case as their next case to highlight. Jennifer and George have highlighted similar stories in the past, helping some cases find resolution, and hope to do the same for Linda's story. Jack Robinson
Unresolved
01/21/18 • 41 min
On an uneventful summer day, Jack went down to the Rosewood Boat Landing in his old neighborhood of Olympia. This boat ramp, which not many locals were aware of, was hidden behind the rock quarry. Yet Jack found himself there at approximately 6:00 PM on August 17th. He started talking to a younger man, and the two walked into a nearby clearing. Soon, their argument took a violent turn, and Jack was murdered at the hands of this unknown assailant.
In this episode, I go through the story, and try to separate the facts from the theories. I also speak to Jack's only child, Tammy, who has kept the case alive online and in the media.

Jack Froese
Unresolved
01/08/24 • 21 min
In June of 2011, 32-year-old Jack Froese died of a heart attack at his home in Dunmore, Pennsylvania. A father of two and a longtime musician, Jack made a strong impact in the lives of his friends and family during his short time here on Earth.
Months later, those that had loved and cared for Jack during his life were still struggling to move on after his sudden and tragic loss. That was made difficult for some of them, however, when they began receiving emails from Jack...

Aron Christensen
Unresolved
12/19/23 • 56 min
On the morning of 19 August 2022, 49-year-old Aron Christensen set out on a solo hiking trip alongside his puppy, Buzzo. Already camping with a large group of friends, nobody thought twice about Aron setting out on a little solo trip amidst the festivities. An experienced outdoorsman, Aron promised to be back by the following night to help prepare dinner.
By the following afternoon, though, the group that Aron had been with had started to grow concerned. That concern began to turn into fear when they noticed a cop car responding to a crime scene at the campground they'd been staying at. Shortly thereafter, they'd learn that a man's body had been found...

Diana Davis
Unresolved
01/22/24 • 40 min
On the evening of 29 July 2020, a silver Chevy Impala was found engulfed in flame in a Tacoma, Washington alleyway. This was a street that didn't receive much thru-traffic, so there weren't any security or surveillance cameras, making it the perfect place to torch a car and get away without being seen.
Investigators would attempt to track down the owner of the vehicle, 50-year-old Diana Davis from nearby Auburn, but were unable to find her. Friends and family hadn't seen or heard from her since July 27th. As police would learn, Diana had last been seen in Tacoma, but had seemingly driven up to Seattle before going dark. Then, a week after her vehicle was discovered burning in an alleyway, Diana's remains were found roughly 70 miles to the east...

The Delphi Murders
Unresolved
05/05/19 • 93 min
Liberty German and Abigail Williams - "Libby" and "Abby" for short - were two regular 8th graders that were enjoying a day off from school. Trying to take advantage of an unusually warm winter day, the two girls went hiking on one of Delphi's historic trails, overlooking Deer Creek.
As the girls walked along the Monon High Bridge, they were accosted by a strange man - who police believe murdered them a short time later. In some of their final moments, the girls managed to record audio and video of this man, but he has gone unidentified in the years since...

The Evansdale Murders
Unresolved
04/14/19 • 56 min
Lyric Cook-Morrissey and Elizabeth Collins were two cousins that lived in this small Iowa town. In the early afternoon of July 13th, 2012, the two set off on a bike ride in downtown Evansdale and never returned home.
A search of the area found no trace of the two missing girls, and the ensuing investigation also failed to turn up any leads. When the truth of the girls' disappearance was revealed later that year, it forced this region to face an ugly truth: a killer lived among them...

Mazie Mae Sigmon-Palmer & Jay Farley
Unresolved
09/29/24 • 38 min
In the summer of 1979, two youngsters in West Virginia struck up a fling. 25-year-old Mazie Mae Sigmon-Palmer was recently divorced and 18-year-old Jay Farley was fresh out of high school. Both were in transitory phases of their lives and recognized that their relationship was likely temporary, but they seemed to be enjoying it while it lasted.
On the evening of July 14th, the two met up at a nightclub in downtown Charleston, called the Roaring Twenties. There, they hung out for a bit and even talked with some friends of theirs. But at some point that night, both would vanish. It wasn't until years later that evidence surfaced revealing what had happened to one of them, but the circumstances of their initial disappearance - and what led up to it - remain clouded in mystery...
