Unity101 Conversations

So, what have you been watching online? Are you ready for this month’s Bird Eye Review Show? Sitting comfortably? What will be the beady bird eye verdict on a series of three short films (under 40 minutes) all under the umbrella of ‘Ankahi Kahaniya’. It’s out on Netflix. What does our Nat have to say about it and the three films contained within...watch! She also looks at another Netflix series, this time ‘House of Secrets – The Burari Deaths’. Does this three-part documentary series looking at the deaths of 11 family members who were found hanged in their Delhi home one morning in 2018, work? Director Leena Yadav talks to the police and others at the heart of the investigation to ask what really happened? And how did it happen? With Hollywood editor James Haygood (who has worked with director David Fincher), Yadav builds tension and the documentary investigation is more like a thriller and narrative feature - listen to what Nat says about it... The series dropped on Netflix last week (October 8). Also, Nat also interviews Pavan Malhotra, one of the stars the new Sony Liv Series, Tabbar – meaning family. It dropped on the digital channel today (October 15). Malhotra started his career on ‘Gandhi’ , hung out with Martin Sheen - and has an interesting family background. You can find out what he likes in the OTT space by watching! He also talks about having his pants down for ‘Tabbar’ – that may or may not be true... watch and what is that series with Michael Douglas and two actors? Please help Mr Malhotra and our Nat... The Bird Eye Review Show drops every third Friday of the month. It’s a monthly review show of what’s just dropped or coming up in the month on the OTT/digital/online space. Do subscribe and become an asianculturevulture – lots more from us soon, not just the Bird Eye Review Show. Take a look around... Birds Eye Review Number 8 With Natalie Bollywood

OUR intrepid Bird Eye Reviewer, Nat, has been flying high this month and looking around to see what attracts her beady eye and she has settled on and gets her beaky claws into Roots – all these are connected to this, in episode 19. ‘Hum Do, Hamare Do’ – (‘Us Two, Our Two’), a film starring Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon, Paresh Rawal and Rana Pathak Shah. You can find this film on Disney + Hotstar. It’s about the Rao character prepping to get married to Sanon in the film but he’s an orphan and worries how this will look, so enlists Rawal and Shah to help out. Does it work? ‘Tryst with Destiny’ is a series of four short interconnected films – a trio screened at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2020 and one has been added to that – See what our Nat makes of these currently available on Sony Liv. All are interconnected by the idea of Roots! Last but certainly not least and something a little different is Amit Trivedi’s new (branded) music series. Brought to us by Skoda ( don’t forget this, Nat won’t – she mentions it at least five times! And nothing in it, as far we, the Mother Bird, know...) So there on its own merits...and courtesy of the Nat Bird filming skills...Trivedi travels around India and homes in on musical traditions and genres in certain states and produces a music video while subtly promoting the car brand. Looks great and sounds lovely too – individual music videos are available on Youtube as is the music on various streaming platforms but the actual series – released in parts – is only currently available on - India digital platform only – Voot. Don’t forget to subscribe, if you haven’t... The Asianculturevulture Bird Eye Review show drops every third Friday of the month... https://www.youtube.com/c/asianculturevulturecom1
