S6E10 Taryn Brumfitt: "Overcoming body loathing happens when..."
UNDISTRACTED with Laura Bennett08/31/22 • 29 min
Taryn Brumfitt went viral back in 2013 when she shared a before and after photo online that broke with convention. Her before photo showed the results of a body building obsession she picked up after having kids, looking all tanned and trim, and her after was when she’d ditched that and returned to a normal body with lumps, bumps and less tan.
Taryn went on to found the Body Image Movement, directing her first feature film 'Embrace' in 2016, and now releasing 'Embrace: Kids', confronting the alarming statistics that say around 60 per cent of children aged five to eleven years want to change something about their body.
In this conversation Taryn speaks about the cost of body loathing on our lives, how to change your view of your body and why she shared that first photo all those years ago.
