Understanding the Bible

This 1st podcast is just an introduction of myself, Pastor Steven, and a quick intro to the podcast and what the Christian Bible is.

Update: this podcast has moved to being weekly on Tuesdays only, due to the need for more time to prepare each podcast and fitting it around my family time. I have cut out the Thursday time slot.

Another school shooting, here we go again. So we know that a female, claiming to be a male, went into the private Christian school and opened fire, killing several people.

What should the Christian response be beyond the typical "Our thoughts and prayers are with you"? Frankly, I'm getting tired of that. Following God requires action, not merely prayers. Don't get me wrong, prayer is powerful, and if that is all you are able to do; then by all means, you SHOULD pray. However, there are a couple of things that we can do if we believe in Jesus Christ.

First, we need to show God's love and REFUTE THE LIES. Satan is the father of lies and we need to stop partaking in the national lying that is taking place. Secondly, we need to prepare our minds and bodies to do the right thing.

You need to listen to this episode before the next shooting happens, because God forbid, it may happen where you are.

Stuff you didn't want to know, but probably should know.

The two main doctrines of Mormonism that prove they are not Christian are explained here. There are many more beliefs that they have and that they teach that are inconsistent with the Bible, but there is not enough time to cover it all. These two things definitively prove that they do not worship the same god that we do. Words matter. However, definitions matter more. What people MEAN when they say a word can change dramatically what was said.

Mormons believe in a god that they have chosen to name Jesus Christ, they DO NOT believe in the Jesus Christ of the Bible. Yet they use the Bible and twist the words of Jesus Christ just like Satan did in the garden of Eden and when he tempted Jesus in the desert.
