When we think of the Heavens we envision a vast universe full of galaxies and planets. When we think of Earth we think of a globe that is floating in space. Both of these happen to be true, however is this how Genesis talks about the Heavens and the Earth? Have we misunderstood Genesis by assuming our definitions of Heaven and Earth into the text? If we are going to understand what Genesis 1 is truly saying then we need to understand what the biblical authors thought of when it comes to the Heavens and the Earth.

Who is the armor of God for and why do we need it? These questions seem to have fairly apparent answers but I assure you they don't.
