An ultrarunning evolution is happening around the country as race directors work to get more women to the start line. Case in point, officials of the High Lonesome 100, which takes place in Colorado's breathtaking Sawatch Range, introduced a lottery system to level the gender playing field, new rules for transgender and nonbinary entrants, and deferment for new parents. At the center of this policy change is the dynamic duo of Kelsey Banaszynski and Caleb Efta, a married couple who is working to do good in the ultrarunning world. Kelsey and Caleb join the show to talk about gender equality, new race policies, how those policies were implemented and what the response has been.
