UFC Unfiltered with Jim Norton and Matt Serra

Phoenix Carnevale joins Jim today in-studio to talk about Conor McGregor's return to the UFC in his fight against Donald Cerrone at Welterweight, the reported Ferguson-Khabib fight, and hypnotherapy.

First, they're joined by #10 Strawweight Cynthia Calvillo, who's fighting #9 Marina Rodriguez in Washington, DC this weekend. She talks about sacrificing holidays for weight cuts, training in Thailand, her departure from Team Alpha Male, and her American Eskimo dog (check out the Fight Pass show to see him!).

Then, Matt calls from a motorized cart in Disney World, where he and Jim have opposing thoughts on Baby Yoda and their burgeoning Cameo careers.

Then #10 Bantamweight Rob Font joins to talk about his matchup with Ricky Simon. The last time we saw Font was when he was with his buddy Calvin Kattar in Moscow - and guess who's in the background of this interview?

Font talks about traveling to Russia, his long layoff from fighting (through no fault of his own), John Lineker dropping out just days before their fight in June, and the state of the suddenly-loaded Bantamweight division.

Mike Perry, Ben Askren, Aljamain Sterling

Matt Serra is joined by #2 Bantamweight Aljamain Sterling to talk to Mike Perry and Ben Askren before taking off for Thanksgiving!

First, Mike Perry talks about Florida vs California, being a newlywed, his recovery from his famous nose injury suffered against Vicente Luque, and his fight at UFC 245 against Geoff (or, as Mike says, ("Gee-Off") Neal. He also has some thoughts about the legacy of our second guest, Ben Askren.

Then, Jim calls in to ask Aljo about his next fight, why so many huge names (Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo) are coming down to Bantamweight, and working on stunts with 50 Cent.

Finally, after a conversation between Matt and Aljo about Ben Askren's legacy, the recently-retired welterweight calls in to talk about what's next, what he regrets, if there's any chance of a comeback, and some of the best trash talking with Matt Serra in the history of this podcast.

Katlyn Chookagian, Alistair Overeem, Stefan Struve

Jim Norton is lonely today, as Matt is in Disney World and all of our usual friends of the show were unavailable. Luckily, Katlyn Chookagian, who just booked a title fight against Valentina Shevchenko, joins us in studio - after an elevator incident!

First, Jim talks about the Cowboy vs. Conor news and Tony Ferguson's latest comments about Khabib, including a particularly visceral threat. Plus, he explains why Baby Yoda is just a scam to sell toys.

Then, Katlyn joins, straight from training at Renzo Gracie's.

Quickly after that, Jim and Katlyn talk to Alistair Overeem, who talks about his fight with Jairzinho Rozenstruik this Saturday in the main event from Washington, DC. What does Overeem think of this late add opponent who stepped in for Walt Harris? How has changing coaches helped Overeem perform? What advantage does he have having competed in many main events before?

Then, Jim and Katlyn check in on her upcoming fight against Valentina "Bullet" Shevchenko, how she's feeling as she begins to train, and keeping it light and positive while training for a title fight.

Then, Stefan Struve, who is fighting Ben Rothwell this Saturday in Washington, DC, joins to talk about why he came back from retirement, how he's staying motivated, and what he expects in preparing to fight a veteran who is looking to reverse a losing streak.

Finally, we managed to book former UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra from Disney World, who offers Katlyn some encouragement about fighting in Houston after he had a pretty significant win there in a championship fight of his own.
