Two Brits in America - The introduction to what lies ahead.
11/05/23 • 23 min
The Two Brits are Malcolm Teasdale and Francis Carden.
To be more precise they are English Blokes that live in the USA and have been for many years.
Still patriotic, they do travel across the pond to the old coutry at least once a year.
This podcast is about fitting in (the early days), languange nuances, culture adjustment fails, misinterpretation, mispronounciation, accents, dialects, and a combination of none of the above.
They speak and understand 5 languages: English, American, Canadian, Australian, South African and they are British / American translation experts.
If you have a sense of humour (aka humor), this podcast is for you.
There will be the occassional guest, if they can be convinced to spend 30 minutes with these two chaps.
Fasten your seat belts, upgrade your tolerance level and enjoy the banter.

Fresh off the Boat in America - A discussion about language fails on arrival in the USA
The Two Brits are Malcolm Teasdale and Francis Carden.
You gotta start somewhere, so a banter about language fails after setting foot in America after the big move from Britain just seems appropriate.
Mistakes, misunderstanding, mispronounciation, misinterpretation all happened to these Brits while settling down in their new environment.
Lessons learned, all in a good way, to achieve a level of acceptance and tolerance.
Now they just feel like a couple of the locals, well sort of.
Give this a listen and you'll understand the initial challenges of moving to another country,
Don't laugh too much though. All these little stories did in fact happen and The Brits are gratefull to all who had to endure these cultural differences all those years ago.
