Cop’s Sister Arrested for DWI in Middletown Township, NJ
09/18/24 • 27 min
Around 11:51 PM on May 2, 2024, Patrolman John Mania with the Middletown Township Police Department was on patrol in the area of State Route 35 North and Chapel Hill Road, and he observed a black 2021 Mazda swerving between lanes on multiple occasions. He activated his emergency lights in the area of Buckingham Circle, but the driver did not stop the vehicle until she approached the area of State Route 35 North and Woodland Drive. After she finally pulled over, Patrolman Mania made contact with the driver, who was identified as Asma.
Asma was asked for her documents, and Patrolman Mania asked her where she was coming from. As Patrolman Mania was speaking with her, he detected the odor of alcohol. Asma told him that she had been at Charlie’s in Lincroft for a work event earlier that evening before heading over to Gabriela’s in Red Bank. When he asked her if she had anything to drink, she initially admitted to consuming a glass of wine at Gabriela’s. However, she would later admit to consuming 2 glasses of wine and possibly some champagne as well. Asma also handed Patrolman Mania a card indicating that her brother was a police officer. After Patrolman Chambers arrived on scene to assist, Patrolman Mania returned to his patrol car to check her information. Based on his suspicion of impairment, Asma was asked to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety exercises.
The first exercise was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test, and Sergeant Mazza observed a lack of smooth pursuit, distinct and sustained nystagmus at maximum deviation, and the onset of nystagmus prior to 45 degrees. No vertical gaze nystagmus was observed. The second exercise was the Walk and Turn test. During the Walk and Turn test, Asma failed to touch heel-to-toe on each step, took an incorrect number of steps, and used her arms for balance. The final exercise was the One Leg Stand test, and Asma failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and swayed while balancing.
Based on her erratic driving patterns, the odor of alcohol on her person, and her inability to adequately complete the field sobriety exercises, Patrolman Mania placed Asma under arrest for driving under the influence. Her vehicle was impounded for a mandatory 12-hour hold under John’s Law. She was transported by Patrolman Mania to Middletown Township Police Headquarters for further processing.
At police HQ, Asma was read the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators and initially agreed to submit breath samples for testing. Sergeant Michael Heaton attempted to administer the Alcotest machine, but she failed to provided adequate samples despite 4 separate attempts and she was ultimately charged with a refusal. After they were finished processing her, Asma was eventually released to a friend after she signed the Potential Liability Warning Form on her behalf. She was issued the following summonses: Operating under the influence, consent to take breath samples, reckless driving, failure to wear seat belt, and traffic on marked lanes.

The Murder Of 12-year old Stephanie Ann Crowe True Crime Documentary
Stephanie Ann Crowe, 12, was severely slashed with a knife at her house in Escondido, California, in the early morning of January 21, 1998. She had nine stab wounds on her body. Police initially focused on her younger brother, Michael, who was just 14 years old at the time.
Stephanie Crowe was sleeping comfortably in her bed when an unknown attacker stabbed her nine times in the head and chest. Evidence indicates that she tried to flee her assailant, sustaining stab wounds on both the right and left sides of her body. Her grandma discovered the small girl later that morning. On the floor of her bedroom, she was dead, motionless, and cold. Stephanie had crawled to her bedroom door and collapsed. Her alarm clock was still blaring.
She'd died of a suffocating suffocation. Officers from the local police department were dispatched to the site. They were unable to locate any evidence of forced entry into the bedroom or the residence after doing a walkthrough of the property. The Crowes, on the other hand, frequently left the door to their laundry room open, allowing access to the outside. The coroner assessed her death time to be between 10:00 and 11:00 p.m. during the autopsy. The Oceanside Police Department's interrogation methods in her case were dubious, and four people would wind up on trial for Stephanie's murder.

Former Homeland Security Employee Arrested for DUI at Over TRIPLE the Legal Limit
Former Homeland Security Employee Arrested for DUI at Over TRIPLE the Legal Limit
Around 8:52 PM on January 2, 2023, Deputy Matthew Levier with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office observed a 2021 Volkswagen Atlas driving 82 MPH in a 60 MPH zone on Highway 90 near Pepper Tree Road. He initiated a traffic stop, and the driver pulled over on Highway 90 near Dingo Road. As he and Deputy Casey made contact with the driver, later identified as Rachel, Deputy Levier observed that she exhibited signs of impairment.
Rachel denied driving 82 MPH and repeatedly attempted to call her attorney. Based on his suspicion of impairment, Deputy Levier eventually ordered Rachel to exit the vehicle. Other Deputies arrived to assist with this traffic stop, and eventually exited the vehicle and agreed to perform field sobriety exercises.
Deputy Levier started with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. During the HGN test, Deputy Levier observed 6/6 clues and a slight vertical nystagmus. The second field sobriety exercise was the Walk and Turn test, and Rachel failed to touch heel-to-toe on each step while displaying a lack of balance. Other field sobriety exercises were not attempted due to her lack of cooperation.
Based on her erratic driving, the odor of alcohol, and her inability to adequately perform the field sobriety exercises, Rachel was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. After Rachel was placed in the car, Deputies retrieved a firearm from her vehicle. Rachel was transported by Deputy Levier to the Santa Rosa County Jail while another individual was called to the scene to take possession of her dog.
At the Santa Rosa County Jail, Rachel agreed to submit breath samples. Her Intoxilyzer results indicated a BAC of 0.26% and 0.262%, which were more than triple the legal limit of 0.08%. Rachel was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail, charged with driving under the influence (F.S.S. 316.193.4), and issued a warning for speeding. She was released the following day at 10:14 AM on a $500 bond.
