Triangle Radio Podcast - Tree Top Adventure! Episode #13 with Go Ape's Chelsea Rothchild
play

09/25/20 • 16 min

On todays episode Jordan talks with Chelsea Rothcild, the site manager for Go Ape located in Blue Jay Point County Park in North Raleigh. Go Ape is an outdoor adventure experience for the whole family. Back in the mid 2000's while traveling in Europe, the founders of Go Ape stumbled upon a network of zip line and aerial adventure courses in the UK and formed a partnership to bring the idea to the United States. Their vision sprung to life with the very first Go Ape USA course in Rockville, Maryland. Now there are 14 locations in 13 states. From rope ladders to tree top obstacle courses to zip lines, this place sounds like a blast. I personally can't wait to get out there and experience it for myself.

Triangle Radio Podcast - Redefined Courage! Episode #12 with Nikki Speer
play

09/19/20 • 32 min

On todays episode Jordan talks with Nikki Speer of "Redefined Courage". They are a non-profit organization committed to gifting "HOPE", which is a post-operative shirt for women undergoing breast surgery. The idea to create this garment came to Nikki after a promise she made to her mother who had undergone 3 surgeries for breast cancer. Nikki recognized the limitations an individual has after this type of surgery and began designing a shirt that would be beautiful, comfortable and functional. To date they have been able to gift over 500 shirts to women worldwide. Jordan and I were completely riveted during the recording of this episode. Her story is truly amazing and inspiring.

Triangle Radio Podcast - Fire Safety! Episode #9 with Smoke Alert's Chris Tomlin
play

08/14/20 • 45 min

On todays show Jordan meets with Chris Tomlin the owner and founder of Smoke Alert. While working as a Chapel Hill fire fighter back in 2010, Chris decided to start a much needed home fire safety company. Their mission statement is to save lives in the community through education and superior service. His team of highly trained technicians, (who also happen to be firefighters), perform a wide range of affordable services and safety checks on your home to include chimney sweeping, cleaning dryer vents, replacing smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, and more. This was one of the most informative and eye opening episodes I've ever recorded. By the time the show was over I was kinda spooked and drove straight home to check on my own chimney.

On todays show Jordan meets with Bill Edwards, owner of The Triangle Shooting Academy. Having owned a small gun shop back in 2010, Bill saw the potential for growth and decided to open what eventually became an NSSF 5 Star shooting range. With a strong focus on education and training, this 41,000 sq. ft. facility is amazing. It currently features 33 lanes, a full time gunsmith, training rooms, impressive retail, a cafe (the burgers are amazing!) and the list goes on. But that's just phase 1. Phase 2 will offer 7-100 yard indoor lanes, archery, and maybe even a flight simulator!
