T.O. Episode 121 – Bucksplaining
Traditional Outdoors Podcast: Preserving our Outdoor Traditions
12/05/21 • 67 min
In this post Thanksgiving episode I get to discuss recent success in GA, Nick and I chat about some new gear purchases and then we get into our main topic of discussion and the growing trend of folks posting their successes in the deer woods with a disclaimer that they know it is not the biggest deer but......... The buckshaming and bucksplaining need to take a rest. Hunters need to be proud of their kills and not feel they need to apologize because the animal may not meet the standards of others. Its time to stop the #buckshaming and the #buckslaining!

T.O. Episode 105 – An evening with Sean Clarkson
Traditional Outdoors Podcast: Preserving our Outdoor Traditions
10/13/20 • 78 min
In Episode #105, Nick and I sit down with our mutual friend Sean Clarkson. This is somewhat of a continuance of our conversation about hunting ethics from a couple weeks back but we also use the time just to have some good conversation with Sean. If you have never heard of Sean he has been a guest on a few podcasts at this point and EVERYONE should at least listen to his guest spot on Kifarucast regarding non-profits. It is a great episode and we feel this one was as well. We hope you enjoy.

Episode #84 finds Nick and I recording with our friends Neil Summers and Ryan Tucker. Neil has recently re-launched a project of his called “Chasin It”, and Ryan was the winner of the bow giveaway we did back during the summer. Neil and Ryan are good friends so it just made sense for all of us to sit down and have a conversation while at the Expo. We had a fantastic conversation that we hope you enjoy.

Traditional Outdoors Podcast: Preserving our Outdoor Traditions
06/03/19 • 82 min

You may have read an article on the website detailing Gene’s modified Mountain Man Breakfast dish for Dutch Ovens. If you have ever wanted to give dutch oven cooking a try then this one is for you....if you are an old pro at cooking with Dutch Ovens then give a listen anyway, you might learn something new and if nothing else Gene is interesting to listen to and a good friend of mine!

T.O. Episode 129 – Opening Day Reflections
Traditional Outdoors Podcast: Preserving our Outdoor Traditions
09/12/22 • 38 min
Episode 129 is all about reflections I had sitting in the stand this past weekend which was opening weekend in Georgia. These are all focused on items I thought others might find useful related to hunting tactics (food sources, bedding, terrain/topography, funnels and trails), picking the best tree and stand location, final practice sessions and in season practice, I also include a quick suggestion for topo maps if you use a Garmin GPS after onX’s recent announcement regarding their State maps on SD cards.

This week Nick and I sit down with a true renaissance man in the traditional community, Mr. Rory Wiske. We discuss traditional bowhunting, fly fishing and fly tying. It was a great chance to catch up with someone I have been friends with on Facebook for a long time but never actually been able to speak with. It was a ton of fun and Nick and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

T.O. Episode 131 – This is why
Traditional Outdoors Podcast: Preserving our Outdoor Traditions
10/04/22 • 30 min
Episode 131 is centered on the “what went wrong?” posts on social media and my thoughts on the lethality of my hunting setup. Not a soap box episode but just my thoughts and approach based on actual hunting experiences.

T.O. Episode 102 – What would Aldo say?
Traditional Outdoors Podcast: Preserving our Outdoor Traditions
09/13/20 • 59 min
In Episode #102, Nick and I sit down and have a chat about ethics in the outdoors. This was prompted by a discussion we ran across on Facebook recently and we both felt strongly enough about the topic that we wanted to have a conversation about it. Normally I end these posts with “We hope you enjoy!” but instead today I want to say “I hope this one gets you thinking!”
