In this forty-second (42nd) edition of the TigerTalk podcast presented by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes Northeast Director of Bands Bryan Mitchell to the podcast as he introduces one of the largest Showband from Tigerland in school history. Mitchell talks about how the band battles the summer heat and how the community has come together to rally around the band as they suffer in the Southern heat. Mitchell also talks about the 50-year anniversary with the Showband from Tigerland that happens in 2018-19 and about some of the alumni from the Showband from Tigerland -- including himself. Mitchell also gives listeners an insight into the Meet the Tigers event in the Dominos parking lot just off Second Street in Booneville. In the middle part of the podcast, Kollmeyer brings in middle reliever Richy Harrelson, the Tiger baseball coach, for a Field of Dreams update and how the facility will not only benefit the college but also the city of Booneville and the Prentiss County community as a whole. Jody Long, the Lady Tiger softball coach, comes on to close out the program with his thoughts on the Field of Dreams project and gives an insight into how it will affect his program and how it helps recruiting. Kollmeyer wraps up the podcast with a new addition to the publication -- an extended version of what is coming up on campus that details events happening on and around the Northeast campus in a daily breakdown. In this forty-first (41st) episode of the TigerTalk Podcast by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes Northeast's sports information director Blake Long to the podcast to talk about all the athletic events that will be happening during the fall semester. Long touches on the NEMCC Tiger football team and the expectations for Greg Davis and staff while also providing listeners with a way to keep up with the Tigers -- at home and away -- via Northeast's live-streaming platform, http://www.nemcctv.com. In addition to giving insight on the Tiger football team, Long talks about the upcoming groundbreaking for the Tiger and Lady Tiger baseball and softball complex at the corner of Third Street and Bill Ward Drive along with what to look for as far as changes to the court at the Bonner Arnold Coliseum, fall baseball and fall softball and the basketball programs at the college. In the second half of the podcast, Northeast's SGA president Weston Coggin of Booneville stops by to talk about what all SGA has planned for the upcoming semester along with the success of the back-to-school luau that saw 500 people celebrate being back at Northeast on the second day of classes. Coggin promotes the upcoming SGA representative elections as well as gives thanks to the members of his officer team that help plan events for the upcoming school year. In the back part of the podcast, Kollmeyer tells listeners about all the happenings on the Northeast campus and provides a way for people to stay in the loop with all that is happening at Northeast. It's Military Appreciation Week on the TigerTalk Podcast. In this forty-third (43rd) episode of the TigerTalk Podcast by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes Northeast's assistant head football coach and defensive line coach Dustin Jones to the podcast. Jones, who served in the United States military for almost a decade, talks about his service and how his service links over to what he is doing now with the Tiger football team. In addition to his time with the Tiger football team, Jones talks about his time in the military, what it taught him and also how sports and the military interconnect with each other throughout life. In the second half of the podcast, Northeast's vice president for institutional advancement and executive director of the Development Foundation and Alumni Association Patrick Eaton steps into the guest role to give listeners a chance to experience the new veterans memorial monument that is being erected at the end of Cunningham Boulevard near the fountain. In addition to Eaton paying tribute to the veterans, he also gives the backstory on the monument -- how it is a community-led effort and all that went into bringing the monument to campus. Eaton also gives listeners insights into what the Development Foundation is doing on Thursday in addition to the veterans memorial dedication -- including recognition of scholarship donors and other exciting things at the football game.
