If you're in need of some real HOPE, you won't want to miss this episode! Arlyn suffered unthinkable loss of his wife and baby daughter to a drunk driver and not only had deep peace in the midst, but the redemption story God brought forth from this tragedy became the promise fulfilled in the scripture, Romans 8:28. And because God is 'no respecter of persons', that can be your story, too!

Let's hear from Brandy - recovered meth addict and so much more. This poor childhood story is laden with drama and abuse, multiple moves, caring for siblings and on and on it goes. But how God shows up and chooses to deliver her on a Greyhound bus bound for PA with her own baby now...living in a homeless shelter and the hands He used to bring healing and disciple her...just WOW!

Meet Monica. As a self-proclaimed "fixer of people", she would find solace, relief and begin her healing journey in the rooms of Al-Anon. And what a journey it's been! Her story begins the week after Thanksgiving when her son-in-law called stating, "I can't find her" (implying her daughter was missing). Subsequent calls were about to ensue to the hospitals, jails and so on - when the walls came crashing down in the worst, most unexpected ways. The tragedies of this disease are as varied as the number of people impacted. Horrific. Distressing. And yet, even in the midst of the worst, God comes shining through in the most unexpected ways, with FORGIVENESS at the heart of it for us all. You don't want to miss this episode, and I pray you'll share it with numerous others in your spheres of influence. HOPE is real - and it's available for you, too!

In this incredible episode, you will meet Sharon; renowned author, speaker, professor and therapist. The depth of this woman's story of recovery has such far reaching levels of impact. I urge you to not only listen, but to share broadly.
From growing up in a teetotaling, legalistic religious household, Sharon really had no grid for the idea of alcohol having any sort of impact beyond "relief", when her ER
doc suggested a glass of wine to ease her anxiety (there wasn't an understanding of what that was 'back then'). As you can imagine, for Sharon, that first drink quickly spun out of control. And as one who was active in her church community, raising children and in the throes of 'adulting', the shame and isolation would soon become her story, too.
Sharon Hersh offers a treasure-trove of experience, strength and hope - for those on BOTH sides of the recovery journey. She is a prolific writer with such extraordinary talent for touching the very depth of your soul with her words that drip with wisdom - from her journey and beyond. Be sure to find her on social media, grab any of her books (I can't wait to read her most recent) and share her story broadly. It's one that will touch everyone!

"I felt the shame" - was one of the earliest quotes from Kathy. As she shares her own tragic experience at such an early age, she's also quick to point out that "God kept me" as things could have gone drastically different for her. There are so many beautiful highs littered with numerous lows - sound familiar?
Kathy's story is just that - it's hers. But trust me, you will find multiple connections in her story likely to your own journey. Our prayer is always that you will find HOPE and HELP - consolation to know that you're NOT ALONE. She also shared a remarkable resource for those with mental illness. Let's go listen in now!

Meet Andy - a raging party machine...once upon a time. With an 'animal house' style story, you'll be encouraged by the way in which he chose to make some changes - essentially based on the need for community. You'll appreciate the successful entrepreneur that he now is - a vastly different lifestyle that is now THRIVING instead of merely surviving.

Meet 'Party Peter'! The boy-turned-man who was the quintessential life of the party - until he wasn't. With multiple DUIs to his name, a pending Class IV felony and some time in solitary confinement, Peter would ultimately get to the place of surrender. By now means an easy journey, and with multiple 'games' played along the way, Peter would one day hear the audible voice of God. The HOPE that is littered throughout this man's journey and the redemption story that is his now, is one you don't want to miss!

In this episode, Julie shares what true surrender brought her. Formerly living this 'edited version' of herself, her own family was oblivious to the degree in which her marriage and family was impacted by this disease. Thankfully, in a place of true surrender, Julie went from her version of living in the 'twilight zone' to having HOPE for the first time. Listen in as she shares so many beautiful truths learned in the rooms of Al-Anon and how you, too, can live a life of rigorous honesty and the freedom that it brings.
