J.P. Mackey is a 12-year-old nature-lover and founder of Bumble Bracelets, a “buzz-ness” he created to raise funds to help save the bees, the number one most valuable species on the planet. J.P. handmakes each bracelet to order, with gemstones and beads including lapis lazuli, labradorite, Amazonite, Czech glass, and agate, among others. Each bracelet also has a signature silver, gold, or glass “bee” bead.
All proceeds are donated to Heifer International’s Gift of Honeybees program, which gives local farmers a bee package, hive, box, and training in beekeeping techniques to increase the global honeybee population and support the environment. Bumble Bracelets cost $30 each, the same cost as a beehive for a farmer. So, every bracelet purchased buys a beehive for a farmer.
