Why did you start this show?

To offer an alternative to mind reading. The communication trap is assumptions, as in 'I assumed you understood how busy I was or how I felt about... By listening to this show, listeners would be inspired ton how to be intentional in their communication skills.

What do you hope listeners gain from listening to your show?

Inspired to want to be better communicators. To go out after the episode and try a communication skill with a colleague, an employee, a boss, and in their personal life. To realize that they can have more confidence and control over the conversations they have and create better relationships.

What is your vision for your show?

The podcast is more interactive with the audience. More questions, and maybe come on the show and get some coaching.

What is your favourite other podcast that isn't yours?

Clear and Vivid with Alan Alda, specifically the episode he had Tina Fey on.

How did you come up with the name for your podcast?

I wanted to call it 'Shift Happens' because if we're really communicating, a shift happens, but that name was taken! This feels right is something I always say about our first response, which is usually emotional - "Does this feel right?" then we use logic to substantiate it - "yeah, I think this is right" In talking to a friend, I didn't want it to sound too 'touchy-feely', so he suggested I add the abbreviation 'TFR', which was brilliant!

Tell us a bit about yourself

Maybe you remember me from AOL 7.0 Canada commercials? Yes, once upon a time I was stuggling actor, who became an acting teacher, which really led to me leading communication skills training and coaching sessions. I've been doing that for close to 25 years (pretty much since the AOL 7.0 commercials). I hate cooking but I like to eat healty and good food, so I'm the cook!
