    • John Lamar – Since the weather has gotten cold here in Montana and my 2 car garage door stays closed most days I definitely have a need for dust collection and filtration. I was planning on getting a Wen unit but I don’t want to hang it from the ceiling. Will it be as effective on a cart like Jays or under my assembly table? I’m tired of all my chachkies getting dusty. Joanie doesn’t like it either.Jon
    • Ed gonzales – What to do about clogged blast gates! So frustrating!
    • Lewi Uberg – Hi, Big fan! Let’s say I was planning a trip to the us from Norway with the family. To vacation, buy 20% of what they sell in Rockler. And if possible meet some of the YouTubeers I like to watch. Do you think it’s ok to just ask?
    • Ricky Chisum – I recently took my first project where I needed to use 8/4 hard woods, I have a few more people requesting for me to make similar items. My 1hp table saw had a very hard time so I am looking to upgrade. I am looking at the grizzly either the 2 hp or the 3hp. The 3hp is quite a bit more money. I have access to either 110 V or 220v so that is not an issue. It the 2hp enough? Thanks for all the great advice!

    • Jay – 3 shop guests this week: Wayne Brown, Tom Ferone, Shawn Stone. Upcoming projects: Lathe cart video this week.

  • Submitted Questions:
    • Jason Parker – I currently use my router to do simple easing of edges and light decorative edging. However, I have a project which requires a much larger bit. Can you discuss router HP vs bit diameter vs cutter speed in relation to material height. Specifically, material thicker stock 1.75 but less than 3′′ thicknesses for locking miters and also raised panels both horizontal and vertical orientations.
    • Jason Browder – I am a beginning woodworker and I am going to build an L-shaped computer desk so one side will be for my computer and the other for the kids computer. I would like to know what woods I could use for the top of the desk. With 2 11 year old boys it needs to be somewhat tough. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also I live just south of April so if she has any suggestion on where to go to get some good wood I would appreciate that as well.

The Woodworking Podcast with Bob Kloes & Nick Ferry. In this episode we talk about our recent trip to the Midwest Tool Collectors Association tool show and what we picked up, including a raised panel plane from Pete Callen. As well as rather subtlety announcing Bob as the new co-host and talking about what tools we regret getting and which ones we wish we would have gotten sooner.

    • Hey Jay-Pril Ferry (three in one) ! Just a reaction to your last episode, and the ‘blen/blunder’ of April with the axe handle. I had the exact same thing happening to me last week, when gluing up a carefully hand crafted mallet head in reverse on its handle... (see picture of the glue up with epoxy : https://postimg.org/image/9eznf1o0z/ – dont mind my epoxy made recipient) So unfortunately I noticed it after the epoxy had set, and had to saw the sides to make the mallet work, but now I have a tiny awkward mallet to remind me to check EVERYTHING before glue up... (https://postimg.org/image/meqecfkdz/) Kind of like measure twice cut once, but in this case, it is more check twice, glue once! Anyway, thanks for sharing this blunder April, I feel less alone in my misery Keep up the great work and podcast! All the way from Belgium, Kévin Moulart
    • Leo Jewitt – Hello! I am a listener and enjoy of the podcast. I’m an apprentice carpenter, and amateur woodworker. My question is how do you find inspiration for designing projects? I have a couple cabinet projects to tackle, and am having a hard time designing them. How do you do it? Thanks!
    • David Fensler – Did I hear you mention on a podcast that there might be a woodworking show or meet & greet in Oklahoma? Do you have any more details on this?
