Hello Warrior Next Door listeners! This is a unique 1 episode "series" in which we are honored to be hosting the author and former NBS Sports/ESPN Sports Center director Peter Lion. We will get to know Peter and discuss his books written about two very unique true stories from WWII. His first book "The American St. Nick" chronicles the true story of a handful of soldiers from 28th Infantry Division who brought a unique St. Nicholas Day to the war torn children of Wiltz, Luxembourg just 10 days before the Battle of the Bulge broke out. We also discuss his second book "Merg" written about a fallen GI, George Mergenthaler, who was so beloved by the citizens of Eschweiler, Luxembourg, that they dedicated a church to the memory of him. It is the only church in the world that exists in tribute to a single specific WWII GI.
