The Visionary Files - The 7 Industry Trends You Need to Know for 2024
play

01/17/24 • 28 min

It's no secret that 2023 was a doozy for a lot of people. If you want to set yourself up to have a more lucrative, more profitable, more impactful year in 2024, I've compiled a list of 7 things I'd argue you NEED to be aware of this year. (One of them... I'm really not happy to admit!)

Quick overview of what we cover:

  • Why the lead time to convert clients is taking longer and will continue to take longer unless you do this ONE thing
  • The possibilities of AI outpacing [insert your industry here] and how to keep yourself relevant and in demand
  • The 3 things you MUST be able to do to create converting content moving forward
  • The biggest regrets I have around the way I've developed my businesses over the last few years – that I'm going to prioritize in 2024
  • How there is a lot of grey area around the way people are actually talking about profit margins
  • The biggest asset I'd encourage you to develop this year if you ever want to grow a BIG business or be able to pivot in the future
  • Why I believe there's one thing that's going to dominate (again) this year that will likely be your #1 propeller of growth
  • My assignment to you to take yourself outside of your comfort zone and challenge yourself to do this at least once per quarter

Today’s episode concludes a fascinating and FUN series of conversations with the women of Terzakis and Associates by bringing this mother/daughter duo together to speak candidly about what has made their micro-small business consulting firm work...and what hasn’t.
They beautifully describe the intentional work it took to cultivate a productive symbiosis between Susan’s strategist mind (always finding a way to land and drawing excitement in figuring it out as she went) and Jessica’s empirical nature reminding her to “Hang on, there may be a better way than just ‘being okay at the end of the day.'"
Much to our benefit, they offer their journey towards forming the ultimate Visionary/Integrator partnership here as a hand held out to inspire those of us seeking to find that special business someone, too.
Friends, this is one not to be missed!
Quick overview of what we cover:

  • How Susan – with her impressive business background, experience, and foresight – actively encourages Jessica’s “lasso” for her ideas
  • How Jessica – with her impressive fact-finding/operational talent – actively protects Susan’s space to dream big
  • How they were able to transform their early working environment (chaotic whiplash, lighting off Jessica’s fact-finder radar like crazy and causing Susan immense overwhelm) into the extraordinary dynamic they have now
  • Their unique approach to counteract the periods of inertia that all businesses experience
  • Why they believe it’s healthy to ‘Thelma and Louise some stuff’ to alleviate boredom (not to flirt with risk, but to seek opportunity and deepen their experiences as businesswomen)
  • Why “How can I be my subcontractor’s best client?” is the smartest POV to get the most out of your relationship with contractors – for you both
  • What led to this mic drop moment: “Those are thieves in the night sent by ego - don’t let it take more from you than what it already has.”

BOO! Today’s episode is a rundown of the spOoOOokiest things that can happen when you’re trying to grow your business. We’re talking ghosts...trolls (and not the cute kind)...and maybe the scariest of all – the myriad ways one can be rejected.

Basically all the twists and turns that can sometimes feel like you’ve entered a haunted mansion of funhouse mirrors that all seem to deliver back an image of YOU as the potential scarefest source. (Spoiler alert - it’s almost always not about you, and what’s more, we’ve ALL been there.)

Quick overview of what we cover:

  • The perfect response to the “I need to talk this over with my partner” clients to avoid getting ghosted
  • How to plan for the clients who stop paying and/or cancel their contracts that keeps integrity intact for you both
  • How to decide between ‘bless and release’ or ‘block that bish’ when handling unfair refund requests
  • Why a ‘rejection is protection’ mantra safeguards your tender heart when public roasts come typing after you
  • Why trolls on your ads actually illuminate a path towards growth most business owners miss
  • What to do if you’ve invested in something that, frankly...sucks
  • Plus - a mini-masterclass on the best step to take when you’re running out of money and have no clients on the horizon
  • 6 questions to ask yourself to discover if mindset is the cause of your Sunday (thru Sat) Scaries

One year ago, I started a podcast. (It’ll be FUN, they said!”)
Initially attracted by the thought leadership and speaking aspects offered by this medium, what really appealed to me was finding a viable way to build a community and grow my business without relying on tons of social media support.

And...it worked!
That being said -- I could have done some things better. So, I'm using the occasion of our 1-year anniversary to pass along what I've learned along the way!

Whether you have a podcast (or might be thinking about starting one), these are the 9 most important things hindsight has granted me full view of from 1 year in. A little mini-podcast masterclass, if you will, and a GIANT expression of my gratitude to everyone who has come, and stayed (and subscribed!). Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Quick overview of what we cover:

  • Why learning the tech is the least of it all
  • The three ways I went wrong with my launch strategy
  • Why ‘clear is always better than clever’ when it comes to choosing show names and episode titles
  • All the small details that make or break an episode’s (and really the show’s) success
  • How to choose what kind of help you need to keep recording (and publishing!) consistently
  • How to prepare for the slow growth that podcasts tend to track on
  • How to use your audience behavior to shape your episodes
  • Why guests are not going to help you the way that you think they might
  • How to reverse engineer your episode CTAs
  • How to know if it’s all worth it, on a personal level (and professionally, because data!)
  • Why building a podcast has felt like building a meeting house in all the best ways, and why knowledge sharing is my own personal theology

How does someone go from charging $500 for a website to pulling in 5-figures for a single website project? This is what my guest today, Amber Crudup, was able to do, and in fairness, the $500 price WAS the discounted price. (But the reason she created a 75% discount was because she couldn’t sell a $2,000 website!) To reassess and reposition her offer to generate 5-figures per project is really an incredibly transformation, and even if you’re not a web designer yourself, I think you’re going to get a lot out of this episode.

Quick overview of what we cover:

  • The significance of processes when developing and scaling your business
  • Amber’s journey through figuring out work-life harmony, how to be okay with her goals changing, and not being jealous of others’ successes
  • How limiting belief can affect the way you run your business and how to avoid letting the “not knowing” keep you from moving forward
  • Amber’s perspective on non-negotiables and how important they are to your business
  • Amber’s emphasis on the embodiment of the being when scaling and how who you are being is detrimental to your business

Speaking and communication (and possessing the presentation skills to do both effectively), make up both the original and final frontiers of brand growth.
In part 1 of a two-part series, Adriane + Steve reunite to discuss how they pulled the rug out from under their up-until-recent collab plans, in lieu of some unexpected, yet compelling detours: a series of live events that Adriane is planning, and Steve's upcoming TEDx talk!
This episode covers how each approach public speaking and the essential ingredients needed to make an audience go from, "Cool story, bruh," to "Damnnnnn...tell me more!"
Quick overview of what we cover:

  • A pulse check on the course-creation and coaching industry as it stands now, and how potential clients can be uniquely accessed via public speaking
  • How Steve has blended his learning design and facilitator backgrounds into a deep understanding of using his speaker voice
  • Why effective and impactful public speaking goes WAY beyond 'intro...body...conclusion' frameworks
  • The venues where it's better to feed off the audience and 'wing it' vs. the places where that strategy will run you straight into the ground
  • How to best utilize speaking coaches, voice exercises...and Dr. Suess to sharpen your presentation skills
  • The one thing to be super clear on for everything else to fall into place
  • The important distinctions between keynotes, "lunch-and-learns," and TEDx talks
  • How the mundane makes us human -- and why that's sometimes a more powerful reminder than life-changing anecdotes
  • How to sense your audience's 'enough point' (aka, the critical precipice where a lot of stories (and storytellers) go wrong)
  • Why great presenters speak from the scars and not from the wounds
  • Can't wait for part 2?? DM "TEDx" to @adrianegalea on IG for an exclusive sneak peek!

In todays' episode, the teacher becomes the student!
Listen along as Adriane willingly takes the hot seat by turning the tables and inviting Steve - a curriculum-design expert - to review her latest 12-month program, Sustainable Growth Lab. Steve walks Adriane through his method for curriculum mapping and creates a spreadsheet in real time that assesses her most robust course to date.
In short - it's course-building GOLD.
Quick overview of what we cover:

  • The 5 columns that belong on a curriculum mapping spreadsheet
  • The tools that can tell you if your content is truly engaging your learners (or not!)
  • How to weave macro and micro outcomes into your course mapping
  • The best ways to get your learners to demonstrate knowledge gained
  • Why it's important to go beyond what you want your learner to know and do, to what you want them to feel at the conclusion of your course
  • Why "free-range chicken" learners are the least engaged
  • Steve's persuasive argument for locking down content
  • Why your price point should not dictate the amount of support you give your learners
  • How to hold your learners accountable with kindness
  • The secret weapon Adriane employed in her last program that blew Steve away with its cleverness

The Visionary Files - 4 Reasons Your Pitch Keeps Getting Overlooked
play

01/28/24 • 26 min

Since starting this podcast, we have received hundreds of pitches. Out of those hundreds, we have only said yes to ONE pitch – because the rest have... fallen flat.
In this episode, Adriane isn't holding back with the four primary reasons most pitches don't land – and at least one of these things you're probably doing because you think it's helping your pitch.
If you're looking to land guest podcast spots, this is the episode that will help you with what to do... and what not to do.

Quick overview of what we cover:

  • How to apply what we're talking about to ANY medium you might be looking to pitch – stages, digital or print media, etc
  • The type of energy you definitely DON'T want to lead with (but probably are)
  • What almost every pitch fails to do that's very likely leading you to an automatic no
  • The most basic effort you need to make before pitching
  • The 4 B's of generating visibility and leads – and which one guesting on podcasts fits into
  • How you can spin the exact same content, but differently for each show to strengthen your pitch tenfold
  • Why it's never about you when you pitch – it is always about them
  • Why it's important to understand that most producers (of podcasts, events, etc) are getting more pitches than they can say yes to

Frequency. Resonance. Alignment. Manifestation. Visualization. Quantum Leaps?!
Okay, so these terms might not be what jump out at you as the kind of things that millionaires value, but rest assured, they are very much discussed in 7-figure circles.
Today’s episode brings together two very special occasions – Adriane’s Birthday AND the 100th episode of this podcast! 🎉
Milestones are a great time to shake things up – and Part 2 gets all into the messy, woo-laden methodology needed to retrain your brain into believing that ‘being a millionaire’ is already yours.

Quick overview of what we cover:

  • A crash course in quantum physics, chemistry, and astrophysics
  • Why ‘woo’ is really just ‘mindset,’ and vice versa
  • Why you’re seeing the term “quantum leap” show up everywhere in business now (and what it actually means)
  • What the things you notice about what others have (that you don’t) tell you and how to channel this observation into positive action
  • Why no successful, balanced person will ever judge you for wanting more – and why they’ll only encourage you to do THIS
  • Practical steps you can take to create alignment between what you want and who you are
  • The actual time is takes to realistically break behavior patterns and retrain your brain

PS - Adriane wants one thing for her bday, and it’s for YOU to leave a 5⭐️ review and share this episode...but only if you loved it as much as we loved making it for you!
