Furthermore, she pursued a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the Child Study Center at NYU Langone Medical Hospital and Bellevue Hospital.

As the Chairwoman of the Women in Medicine Board at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and a Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU Langone Medical Center Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Dr. Judith remains committed to advancing mental health treatments that are inclusive of diverse backgrounds and beliefs.

He debunks myths related to intimacy health and has received awards for working with South African communities to educate about topics that are taboo and that people feel ashamed talking about. Dr. Siya knows that most patients won’t read medical guidelines but they will get their health info from influencers on social platforms. Dr.Siyah teamed up with Andy Pattinson at the World Health Organization to become a digital health consultant to recruit qualified healthcare workers online to educate the public about health issues. I was a recent recruit of Dr. Siya, and I worked with Andy and
Dr. Siya at the United Nations general assembly week events this year on several panels. We talked about supporting health professionals to use digital platforms to spread accurate information online and we also addressed topics like burnout and depression in healthcare professionals. On this episode of the Vault, Dr. Siya shares how he masked high functioning depression with productivity. At a time in his life when he was nominated for TikTok Creator of the year, was mentioned in the British Medical Journal, was in major media outlets like Huffington Post and was gaining top recognition by the World Health Organization, he was also

September is Suicide Prevention Month and 988 Day is a national initiative dedicated to raising awareness about 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and emphasizing the importance of mental health and suicide prevention. On September 8, 2024 we share the theme “No Judgement. Just Help.”
During this episode of The Vault, Dr. Tia Dole discusses what every parent should know about raising boys, girls, and youth in order to decrease the risk of suicide and how to identify the warning signs Tia Dole, Ph.D., is the Chief 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline Officer at Vibrant Emotional Health. Dr.Dole is a licensed clinical psychologist and a long-time advocate for the rights of those with intersectional identity. Prior to stepping into the role of Chief 988 Officer, Dr. Dole was the Executive Director of The Steve Fund, the nation’s only organization focused on the mental health and emotional well-being for young people of color. Additionally, Dr. Dole was the Chief Clinical Operations Officer at The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ youth. Dr. Dole oversaw all of The Trevor Project’s crisis services programs as well as their volunteer community and increased their impact by a factor of four.
After completing her bachelor’s degree at Carleton College, Dr. Dole received her Master’s degree in Developmental Psychopathology from Columbia University (Teacher’s College), and she received a Fulbright Fellowship to study Forensic Psychology in Switzerland. She then completed her doctorate
in clinical psychology at Fordham University. Dr. Dole is a published author and sits on several committees. One of her passions is normalizing mental health conditions within communities of color, LGBTQ communities, and helping people get access to services. She is based in New York/New Jersey.

Dr. Jennifer Ashton is an Emmy® Award winning journalist, best-selling author and
internationally known as co-host of GMA3. She was also ABC News’s Chief Health and Medical Correspondent. She left GMA and ABC News this year (The Top News Network) to become Founder and CEO of Ajenda . Ajenda is a groundbreaking women’s health and wellness company addressing the challenges of menopause health and weight management in today’s health conversation. Jen and I went to the same medical school at Columbia and she is a rockstar in the Columbia community. She’s not only a double board-certified OB-GYN doctor, but she is also a nutritionist and certified in obesity medicine. She joins me to talk about how to address stubborn belly fat that starts to become difficult to manage in your 30’s and 40’s and how to address hair loss due to stress, aging and hormonal changes. Dr. Jen’s world was forever changed when she learned that her ex-husband died by suicide.

Spirit is a Doctor of Psychology, Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and LicensedProfessional Counselor (LPC). She is one of 64 clinicians in the country certified to conduct custody and mental health evaluations and serve as an expert witness in court proceedings. Kody Green is a mental health advocate who is living with a diagnosis of Undifferentiated Schizophrenia. Kody is a motivational speaker, podcast host and content creator with over 1.5 million followers across social media. He has struggled in the past with drug addiction, incarceration, and serious mental health issues. Kody regularly advocates for disability awareness and for decreasing mental health stigma.
In order to be a better advocate and speaker, Kody has been trained as a peer
support specialist, recovery coach and suicide prevention specialist. He regularly
shatters stigma and is a mythbuster in the mental health community. Kody’s
experiences are unique because for many years before he was diagnosed with
Schizophrenia he was a caretaker for his mother who also lives with severe
mental health issues.
Now, Kody shares his stories about his struggles and how to navigate through
recovery, mental health issues, and life after incarceration. He is the co-host of
Unseen and Unheard Podcast and a popular YouTube Channel about mental
illness. He chooses to pursue motivational speaking and mental health advocacy
for schizophrenia awareness, drug recovery and second- chance opportunities
because he has dealt with these struggles in his own life.

Isis Asare is the CEO/Founder of Sistah Scifi. Sistah Scifi is the first Black-owned bookstore focused on science fiction and fantasy in the United States as validated by the American Booksellers Association. Located in cyberspace, Sistah Scifi is a national brand with over 50K points of contact.
In February 2023, the first three Sistah Scifi Book Vending Machines were launched in California and Washington.
