The TouchArcade Show – An iPhone Games Podcast
12/16/23 • 71 min
In this week’s episode of The TouchArcade Show we talk about how Eli has fully fallen off the wagon and is back on his World of Warcraft kick again. Some demons never die. We then talk about last week’s The Game Awards show and how we think it could be improved, as well as touch on the latest Epic Games court battle. We then do the unthinkable and talk about... mobile gaming! The latest GTA trilogy release, some upcoming Netflix bangers, how awesome Sonic Dream Team is, and more. Mobile gaming discussion on a mobile gaming podcast, who’d of thunk it?

The Playdate Episode – The TouchArcade Show #527
The TouchArcade Show – An iPhone Games Podcast
04/23/22 • 90 min
It’s another video-less episode of The TouchArcade Show as we continue to try and figure out our technical issues. However, this is a super-sized dose of audio podcast goodness as we start things off reading a few reader emails that spark some interesting discussion, and then we highlight our own Shaun Musgrave’s excellent list of must-have 3DS titles to pick up from the eShop before it shuts down next spring. Then the entire back half of the episode is entirely dedicated to talking all about the Playdate, which officially launched this week. You can find a link to Shaun’s list and my full review of the Playdate hardware in the Show Notes below.

The TouchArcade Show – An iPhone Games Podcast

I’m going to fire myself from writing these intros, since AI does it oh so well anyway. Here’s the AI synopsis of this week’s show, is it accurate? You’ll have to listen to find out! “Jared and Eli discussed personal fans, subscription services, and the reliability of product recommendations for their upcoming trip to Florida. They also explored new video games, the impact of social media on YouTube content creation, and the potential of a new mobile Pokemon game. Lastly, they discussed their experiences with the Assassin’s Creed game series, their collaborations with Apple Arcade, and the future of mobile gaming."

Apple Vision Pro Mega Episode – The TouchArcade Show #559
The TouchArcade Show – An iPhone Games Podcast
06/10/23 • 68 min
It’s probably no secret what the main topic is in this week’s episode of The TouchArcade Show, but can you really blame us? The entire world is talking about Apple’s latest device, the Apple Vision Pro headset. Is this going to be another realm that Apple can make mainstream-friendly like smartphones, MP3 players, tablet computing, and more? Or is the inherent nature of strapping a device onto your face for AR/VR purposes destined to keep this area of tech a niche hobby? That’s what we aim to find out! Also: $3,500???

Half Man, Half Poison Ivy – The TouchArcade Show #486
The TouchArcade Show – An iPhone Games Podcast
04/02/21 • 73 min
In this week’s episode of The TouchArcade Show we reminisce about the good old days of video game stores and ponder where it all went wrong. We also talk about food a bit, because what would a video games podcast be without a little food discussion? Next we talk at length about the huge expansion to Apple Arcade, and critique Apple’s strategy and thought process behind it all. Spoiler alert: I don’t think Apple has any idea what it’s doing when it comes to gaming-related stuff. As always links to the stories we discuss are in the Show Notes below.

Price-Matching Amazon the Hard Way – The TouchArcade Show #482
The TouchArcade Show – An iPhone Games Podcast
03/06/21 • 61 min
In this week’s episode of The TouchArcade Show we kick things off with some good old-fashioned Instant Pot talk as well as some highlights of my recent purchase of a Vitamix blender. Kitchen appliances, ya’ll, that’s what we’re about. This leads into a sad story about Amazon and their (lack of a) price match guarantee. As always, however, we cap things off with all the big mobile gaming news stories of the week. This is, after all, a podcast about mobile gaming, or something. Everything discussed can be found in the Show Notes below.

You Probably Bought the Wrong HDMI Cable – The TouchArcade Show #496
The TouchArcade Show – An iPhone Games Podcast
06/26/21 • 70 min
In this week’s episode of The TouchArcade Show we kick things off talking about our favorite retro emulation devices, as well as some of the reasons why we think emulation is so important for the preservation of video game history, even if it does fall into a legal grey area. Then, following a catastrophic internet failure that may result in some audio and/or video weirdness in the middle of the show, I talk about how I was able to pick up an Xbox Series X and how that has led me down a rabbit hole of crazy technological compatibility problems. Finally, as we always do, we end things with all the big mobile gaming stories of the week, which you can find links for at the Show Notes below.

Flexing Our Switch OLED Muscles – The TouchArcade Show #508
The TouchArcade Show – An iPhone Games Podcast
10/16/21 • 75 min
Well howdy, stranger! The TouchArcade Show took the past couple of weeks off but we’re back and better than ever in episode 508! We kick things off talking about the new Nintendo Switch OLED model, which both Eli and myself came into possession of in quite different ways. That leads nicely into discussion about the Animal Crossing Nintendo Direct that went down this morning and was filled with all sorts of news. We then wrap things up with a little speculation of what we might see at Apple’s latest online showcase which is scheduled for Monday morning.

The iPhone 15 Episode – The TouchArcade Show #566
The TouchArcade Show – An iPhone Games Podcast
09/23/23 • 67 min
After a 3 week hiatus The TouchArcade Show returns with another action-packed episode! Well, maybe not so much “action-packed" as it is “packed with talk about the iPhone 15 Pro". Eli, being in a time zone 3 hours ahead of me, as well as being smart enough to convince his UPS guy to allow him to meet up at his first delivery spot in order to grab his package early, already had his iPhone 15 Pro Max early this morning. However, due to it taking AGES to transfer from his old phone, he didn’t get to actually use the darn thing in time for us to talk about it on the show. Me? My phone came well after we wrapped up and is still sitting in its box until I can finish writing... this... sentence. Done! iPhone here I come!
