The Sword and Staff - The Fae, Water-Spirits, & Tom Bombadil
play

05/26/22 • 66 min

In this weeks edition of S&S, Josh and Ritchie got into an overview on the Fae. They got into how Fae phenomena overlaps with UFO and cryptid phenomena. Ritchie also tells us a story about some of his personal encounters.

They got into how to understand the Fae from a biblical/Christian paradigm. We talked about Aquinas and the Hierarchy of Angels.

They also got into CR Wiley from The Theology Pugcast’s Book “In The House of Tom Bombadil” and how Goldberry from LOTR relates to the Fae.

We also have a special announcement at the end that we’d love your feedback on. We’re thinking about releasing a “re-enchantment box” full of handmade liturgical supplies to help people in application of “re-enchantment.”

Should be a fun one!

The Sword and Staff - The Resurgence of Norse Paganism II
play

07/07/22 • 73 min

In this episode, the guys conclude their discussion on Norse Paganism (for now). They discuss aspects of Norse Paganism that can be blessed, baptized, and burnt by diving into the many parallels in the Norse Creation story and the story of Odin hanging upon Yggdrasil.

The guys also talk about why we should be Christians instead of Norsemen with the help of Owen Barfield (One of the Inklings) and by showing how Norse Paganism can give no hope of victory.

You legitimately won't find any conversations like this in Christendom. You can only get them here at The Sword & Staff! Let us know your thoughts on this weeks episode.
