The police investigation yielded no significant leads, leaving Madison and her family with more questions than answers - until now.

The Survivor Squad - Part 2: Stalked by Jeffery w/ Anna Nasset
play

01/19/24 • 43 min

This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. Give online therapy a try at https://www.betterhelp.com/SURVIVOR, and get on your way to being your best self.

This is Part Two of our two-part interview with Anna Nasset.

Anna Nasset, a victim/survivor of stalking for the last decade, has firsthand experience with how to identify and respond to stalking, which has led her to become an international speaker on the subject. She has trained thousands of professionals, students, and military members on the importance of recognizing stalking, getting help, and advocating for oneself and others. Anna is one of the very few people who can speak openly about her experience after the man who stalked her received the maximum sentence for aggravated felony stalking-ten years in prison-in 2019. This is one of the longest-known sentences for this crime in U.S. history. As an activist and the owner of Stand Up Resources, Anna works with law enforcement, victim service agencies, universities, and other organizations to be part of the solution.

We encourage you to post photos of you and/or your team sparkling against stalking! Use the hashtag #SparkleAgainstStalking on your social media posts, and we will have links to more on this important day in the show notes of today’s episode.

Briell Decker grew up in a Fundamentalist Mormon sect (FLDS) in a family with 14 children and two mothers. At age 18 she became the 65th wife of the Prophet Warren Jeffs. After years of abuse and torment from Jeffs and his followers Briell escaped by climbing out of a window and running barefoot to safety. After escaping the FLDS, she applied and was granted Warren Jeffs 28,000 sq foot home in Colorado City, AZ where she once lived as a wife. Partnering with the Phoenix Dream Center, that home has now been remodeled and restored to serve as a place of hope and refuge for other women and children leaving the FLDS. Briell has dramatically rewritten her script from cult victim to advocate and now a Certified Peer Support Specialist at the Short Creek Dream Center. She is happily married to the love of her life, Stevan, and lives in Hildale, UT. She is transformed! She is an Activist and currently working with members of the Utah Legislature to create better policies to help victims of cults and human trafficking.
