Fear and the Comfort Zone
12/14/19 • 27 min
This episode breaks down fear in two parts: the fear of writing and the fear of sharing written work. Sometimes it’s terrifying sharing pieces of ourselves. It’s safer to stay in our comfort zone where we are safe from judgment; however this protection can become its own prison. Using Kendrick Lamar’s song “Opposites Attract,” Lamont Carey’s Poem “She Says She Loves Me,” the folk story of the scorpion and the frog, and my own personal poem, I deconstruct the root of truth and why it matters to be honest. Much love to all those who are tuning in, thank you for listening. You can follow me on Instagram @ jorgequintanapoetry

Expectations
This episode breaks down expectations and their origin, how exactly we develop them. Pulling from my own experience of managing my expectations, I cover the importance of letting go of what we expect to be and what we expect to do and instead focus on the present. Thank you for your support and love especially as I continue to test out microphone settings and organization formats.

Organic Inspiration and Evolution
This episode is dedicated to how we can channel inspiration and let it flow through our being. I also talk about evolution because as artists, we are constantly evolving our sense of self. Evolution is the change that happens over time. The cycle of death and rebirth that keeps us dynamic. It’s also a good topic because this is my last episode published via Anchor. I will be taking a hiatus from podcasting as I revamp my work and invest more in my sound equipment. I will be back March 2020 with a new sound.
