Ahoy-hoy Snappers!
Episode 134 is all about leads - where they come from, and which ones most often convert to jobs. We go deep into an analysis of where the majority of our leads come from. We then take things EVEN further (using Studio Ninja's epic band-end tools) to figure out which of our lead sources results in the most jobs being booked. Greg also buys a shipping container, and Thom drops an all-time snap down involving velcro....

YES, we actually have a brand new M1Max MacBook Pro in our hands!
What an exciting time to be a tech-nerd Apple-loving wedding photographer! Apple's new MacBook Pro announcement was HUGE, and in episode 132 we go right into these new laptops. Thom ordered his as soon as the Apple store came online and received his machine already! So we have a bunch of hands on feedback on how the new 14" M1 Max feels, how it runs, and fast it is compared to Greg's M1 Mac mini and Thom's older Traschan Mac Pro. We also talk about what this means for photographers and whether or not you actually need one of these savage machines.

Hey hey! Some of the heavy hitters in the industry are releasing some pretty sweet gear in the next little while - namely Sony (A7iv) and Apple (MacBook Pros and minis). It goes with out saying that Greg will be up at sparrow's fart to watch the Tim Cook keynote next week. Other than that, we both have Godox love to share. If you haven't tried the V1 flashes yet, you're missing out. Plus Covid sux... in case you didn't know.

Hello there!
We have some genuinely good snap downs today. Greg has been using a website called usesession.com for organising some mini photo sessions while weddings are slow. And Thom has been programming his Lightroom to do all sorts of custom tasks using www.keyboardmaestro.com. We then get to the meat on the bone and chat about the Sony A7iv. There's a lot to love - but is it worth upgrading if you have A7iii bodies (Greg) or A9ii bodies (Thom). Listen on to find out!

SORRY we have been so quiet, snappers! Both Greg and Thom are under the pump right now, with wedding season in full swing. All of 2021's covid postponements seem to have fallen in Feb and March so we're super busy shooting and editing! Greg even did 4 weddings in one day.... Today we chat about the number of hours that makes a perfect amount of coverage. Thom reckons it's 8, while historically Greg has always shot for 10. In episode 136 we discuss how we spend this time on the wedding day - how long we're with each partner during prep, what time we finish. We also talk about ceremony times. SPOILER: if you're shooting weddings, you NEED to tell your couples what time to set their ceremony for - it's in your best interests!

Hey snappers! Well if you know Greg and Thom then you know we love new Mac stuff. Greg in particular is at froth level midnight over the new Mac Studio announcement. We go over the news as well as cover a couple of other things: 1) managing group photos at weddings and 2) a great place to buy memory cards - www.flashtrend.co.nz

Attention Snappers!
Well, the Instagram we know and love appears to be changing to more video-focused content. How will this affect us as wedding photographers? In episode 125 we chat about this move and how we might have to change the content we upload to stay relevant on the 'gram. We also talk about Alphagvrd camera skins, and a bunch of other stuff that you'll love.

G'day Snappers
We all have a few tricks up our sleeve to help the bridal party loosen up. But what happens when these tricks simply won't work? In episode 119 Greg and Thom share their approach to this highly troublesome scenario.
We also chat about desk cable management, and epic card readers to help your workflow.

People... if you know Greg... you know that he has been waiting with baited breath for Lightroom to be updated to function natively on the M1 Mac. Well, that day has finally arrived! And with side by side Mac Minis, he has all the feedback on how the new update works. Spoiler... it’s GOOD. We also chat about deposits... some say 50% is too much - what about 100% (whaaaaaaat?). We’ve also got a nifty little time sync shortcut for ya. But seriously, this one’s all about LR on the M1.
One thing we didn't mention was the specs of the two computers that were compared.
Mac mini Intel: 3.2GHz, 6-Core, 32GB RAM, 500GB SSD
Mac mini M1: 8-Core CPU, 8-Core GPU, 16GB Neural Engine, 2TB SSD
