Explicit content warning
03/25/21 • 105 min
A conversation with Nina Else (Clare's Aunt!) an artist based in Portola Valley, California who mostly focuses on large scale sculptural work. Since the late 1980s, she has been hand-building one of a kind pieces that stand their ground. With a background in painting, Nina also uses a lot of color and pattern for her surface design along with unconventional ways of decorating and assembling her final pieces. The next time you’re walking in a San Francisco forest, you may just meet a Nina Else original.

Raina Lee from Raina J Lee
Raina Lee joins us this week from her treehouse in Los Angeles. With a bonus bird soundtrack, this ceramic artist tells us about how she began her practice, what she's currently working on, and (not) needing to make every functional object out of clay. Extra bonus, we also discuss where art meets design, mixed media musings, why we love school, and clay books!
