Met Sabre Jr. on a Saturday Sunday he had a match vs Orange Cassidy Probably would've tapped Pockets out But he pulled one arm this way & the other arm thataway Pocket watching was the strategy Seen him throw the Orange Punch - Zack took that away Arm strength was done Forbidden Door match won - on to the G1 Connect with me: TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@iamaobaker IG: https://www.instagram.com/iamaobaker/ X: https://x.com/iamaobaker Listen to the song Signature Move by AO Baker:https://madebyaobaker.com/no-flows-barred My name is AO Baker & this episode’s Signature Move: The Orange Punch. Orange Cassidy's version of a Superman Punch. The move that led to a majority of his 157 wins and 2 International Championship reigns in AEW. That’s also the move that gave Zack Sabre Jr. the blueprint on how to defeat Orange Cassidy at this year’s Forbidden Door. The idea is simple, we’ve seen this before. Pick a part of the body, wear it down during the match and when the time is right, go in for the kill AKA, “hit your finisher, brother.” Bret Hart had the Sharpshooter so he worked the leg. So did Ric Flair to set the Figure Four up. Sabre Jr. is even more dangerous because he doesn't really have a “finisher.” Yes, there are moves that he uses often like the Zack Driver, the European Clutch, the Octopus Hold. But more often than not, he just makes some shit up on the fly. Pure improv. So you never really see what’s coming until it’s too late. So, the Forbidden Door match. Zack takes Cassidy’s right arm. Palm down, elbow up and stomps on it. He went after the fingers, the wrist, the forearm, the shoulder. The perfect defense to neutralize the best offensive weapon in Orange Cassidy’s arsenal. Yeah he hit the Orange Punch but that didn’t even knock Zack off his feet. They went back & forth. The crowd chanted “this is wrestling,” you know, because they were into the match. In the end, ZSJ picked up the W by way of verbal submission because Orange didn’t have a free hand, or foot, to tap out to this move that has no name. And while it might not be a signature move for Sabre Jr., it was a signature win for the man from The Isle of Sheppey.
