Part two of our two part American special. In this episode, we speak with Hollywood acting agent Ryan Hayden who is the founder and owner of Ideal Talent Agency. Ryan cut his teeth in the actor-agent business at the world renowned ICM, assisting in representing actors including Taylor Lautner, Michelle Rodriguez, January Jones, Danny Glover, Tom Arnold, Anjelica Huston and Alex O’Loughlin, to name but a few. Hayden’s talent was refined further as a casting director for MTV, a casting assistant at MGM under Paul Weber, as well as working in politics with notable figures such as Al Gore and Bill Clinton.

Nicole Chamoun is an Australian-born actress who constantly gives us complicated and deeply moving portrayals of the characters she plays. These performances continue to resonate, partly due to the unflinching brave choices Chamoun makes and the humanity she imbues into each and every role. It’s a rare ability, but Nicole Chamoun has this in spades, and has been acknowledged for her efforts with a AACTA nomination and Logie nomination for her work on the critically acclaimed series Safe Harbour.
Nicole Chamoun was recently nominated for her second Logie for her trailblazing performance in On The Ropes, notable as it is Nicole’s second consecutive year, and is filming the second season of Troppo in which Nicole stars alongside American actor, Thomas Jane.

In this interview, Nicole Chamoun discusses with Robert Rabiah her journey, what she’s endeavoured to bring to some of her roles, the process involved, and how she is using her new-found position in the Australian film and television industry to advocate for a much needed increase in female presence, perspective and opportunities in the industry she loves.

Robert Rabiah has also won Best Actor (Monaco Charity Film Festival) for his performance in Face to Face (2011) by Michael Rymer, Best Writer at the Australian Writer's Guild (Monte Miller Award) and Best Writer at the National Literary Awards (Fellowship of Australian Writers)
Robert Rabiah's other notable distinctions include a top 5 Award at the first Spaamart (Screen Producers Association of Australia Film Market) a Spark Award given by the Australian Film Commission, a Cannes World Film Festival nomination (Best Feature Doco - 2023) a candidate at the Australian Academy Awards (Best Feature Doco - 2023/2024) a candidate at the Australian Academy Awards (Best Supporting Actor in a film - 2023/2024) and a nomination for Best Actor in an ensemble at the annual Australian Equity Ensemble Awards (the only actor-voted awards in Australia) for his performance in Safe Harbour (2018), which went on to win for Best TV Movie/Mini-Series at the International Emmy® Awards.

Michael Rymer is a multi-award-winning Australian Director who has spent a large part of his career working in America. Nominated for a Primetime Emmy, Directors Guild of America, and an Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Award, Michael Rymer has also won an Australian Film Institute, Hugo, Santa Barbara International Film Festival, and Rotterdam International Film Festival award – to name but a few.
