The Sherpa Screening Room: Meet Steve Bluestein!
The Sherpa's Podcast Picks (Discovering podcasts with Jim the Podcast Sherpa)

At long last, I get to release this episode! Not that anything was holding me back, I just got a bit bogged down. I really had a lot of fun interviewing Steve. Luckily I edited out most of my laughing. And there was ALOT!!!! Thanks so much for swinging by, Steve-the comedy world is indebted to you.
Here's a classic clip of Steve performing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7v2vtxwnK5w
Here are Amazon. com links to Steve's books. Check them out-they're very funny. The guy knows his stuff.

Faces to Watch: Meet Dale Niehaus and Eric James Morris! (Day 2 of 2)
The Sherpa's Podcast Picks (Discovering podcasts with Jim the Podcast Sherpa)
07/23/20 • 65 min
Day 2 of "Faces to Watch" continues with these 2 talented guys. And strangely enough, we get an unexpected visitor in both interviews! (Well, full disclosure, one of them is an impression...) Both guys have been working in movies, tv, and short films for some time now, and they have no qualms about playing different types of characters, as their IMDB pages will demonstrate. But whether they play good guys or bad guys, they were both a real pleasure to interview..

The Sherpa Screening Room: Meet Bill Foster! (Hollywood Week-Day 3 of 4)
The Sherpa's Podcast Picks (Discovering podcasts with Jim the Podcast Sherpa)
08/13/20 • 37 min
Quick question- How many people do you know who have written children's books, played a "walker" on "Fear the Walking Dead" and own a vineyard...all in one lifetime, that is? Well, look no further, and have a listen to my interview with actor/director/incredibly cool guy Bill Foster. This is truly someone who has walked the walk and talked the talk in many different fields. I'm slightly younger than him, but I already want to be him when I grow up (um, whenever that may be). So, have a listen while you're sitting around the campfire or riding a horse. No campfire? No horse? Then just listen! And while you're at it, please leave the show a nice review on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, or iHeartRadio. Thanks pardners. #VivaLaSherpalution! #Giddyup!

Sherpa Selects:Susannah Lewis ("Thornvale") talks RPG, Monsters, Magic, and Marriage!
The Sherpa's Podcast Picks (Discovering podcasts with Jim the Podcast Sherpa)
02/17/24 • 19 min
Sherpa Selects time with one of my Top 10 episodes! Apologies for the dated reference in the show notes below. But this WAS my first foray into discussing RPGs (Role-playing games). "Thornvale" is airing episodes as of this date, by the way. So bring your multi -sided die and your headphones!
___________________________________________________________________________
First things first. Please don't confuse The Sherpa Sheet with The Mueller Report. We're the one that's not redacted. I have to confess...I really didn't know much about RPG's until I started listening to Thornvale. Granted, I grew up in the era of D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) but I never really followed it. So, thank you, Susannah, for explaining it, and recommending other podcasts in this genre. I think that she will be the type of writer who will gather a large following in a short period of time, since she has such a love of the genre as many of its fans do. We also discuss how "Stranger Things" has helped revive RPG. Also, monsters in Florida! Keeping the Vermont world separate from the Florida world! Characters with special powers! RPG players taking over! And, Susannah finds love on Christian Mingle !!( I didn't ask if her husband could sprout wings, but wouldn't that be cool?) Plus, we also throw in a dose of Sherpa Suggestions and Podcast Pointers. This time, we'll discuss your podcast settings. Did you know you can make me talk faster? And it doesn't involve a branding iron?? Susannah's info: Facebook: Facebook:Thornvale; Instagram: @thornvalepodcast; Twitter:@thornvalecast ; plus a YouTube page. Susannah's favorite podcasts:The Crit Show; The Adventure Zone (Monster of the Week Shows) Sherpa Suggestions: The RPG Academy; Not Another D&D Podcast; The Glass Cannon Podcasts;Dragon Talk; Critical Role
The Sherpa Screening Room: Faces To Watch- Patrick Harney! (Day 2 of 3)
The Sherpa's Podcast Picks (Discovering podcasts with Jim the Podcast Sherpa)
09/10/20 • 29 min
It's funny that Patrick Harney went from a guy who had no interest in being in a school production to a guy involved in promoting a movie he's involved with. He was talking about the importance of being a good person, and I could tell how important that still is to him. His fiance is certainly a lucky lady. He's got a realistic view of the entertainment business, and the drive to be a success. He's the kind of person you like to root for. Keep an eye out for his upcoming releases. This is going to be one busy guy for the rest of the year.

Amazing Women, Incredible Stories (Day 5): Meet Stacey Toy!
The Sherpa's Podcast Picks (Discovering podcasts with Jim the Podcast Sherpa)
10/16/20 • 35 min
Haha! I like how Stacey said that I gave her "the best introduction ever." But she's so worthy of a great intro. She's lead an interesting life with her own collection of lows and highs in her life. How many people get out of a life of pill addiction to become successful? (Ok, you can't count the guy in the "My Pillow" commercial.) Stacey told me that one of these days, she wants to have lunch with me and "our meeting interrupter" (you'll get it when you listen) for lunch one of these days...I'm holding her to it! Besides, who doesn't like a free lunch? What do you mean "there's no such thing as a free lunch." ? Who told you that? The My Pillow guy?
I hope that you've enjoyed this week's lineup of shows featuring women. Next week, the theme is "What are you, A Comedian?" This will lead up to our finale with the amazing Bruce Villanch. And let us not forget the upcoming Halloween special!

The Sherpa Screening Room: Meet Howie Fox! ("What Are You, A Comedian?" Week, Day 2 of 3)
The Sherpa's Podcast Picks (Discovering podcasts with Jim the Podcast Sherpa)
10/20/20 • 38 min
A special thanks to Howie Fox, for a fun interview! You can really hear the appreciation he has for classic comedy. It's also nice to know that someone else on this earth is driving their wife crazy when it comes to their music collection. Uh, I mean, it's him and some guy I barely know. The poor guy, Really, the poor guy.
Here's the Twitter handle to check out Howie's handiwork:: @howiefoxjokes
Have a listen tomorrow to the Season 4 finale. It's an interview with the very funny, Emmy award-winning writer, Bruce Villanch! SML (So Much Laughing!)

The Sherpa's Scary Supernatural Saturday Special! Part 2: "Walking The Shadowlands" with Marianne (A Sherpa Select)
The Sherpa's Podcast Picks (Discovering podcasts with Jim the Podcast Sherpa)
10/31/20 • 34 min
Part 2 of today's Halloween Special! Let's keep it spooky! Thanks Marianne! This is the remixed edited version, less the reference to a contest that you missed, and a podcast app that no longer exists! Here are the original show notes on the Sherpa Sheet:
__________________________________________________________________________________
Who else but me gets the bright idea to record a podcast about the paranormal at 11:00 PM on a Saturday night? When Marianne and I were done, I was worried I would hear "GETTTTT OUTTTT!!!" on my Alexa speaker. It was really interesting hearing Marianne's perspectives on the paranormal. While many may have a degree of skepticism on these subjects, Marianne related her stories just like she does with her podcast-straightforward and factual. I also felt that it was also a nice change of pace for the show, don't you think? Also! Say "Patupaiorehe" five times fast! Who's making the lights flicker? Say WHAT to Alexa? Is Bigfoot travelling under an alias? And, if you hit a ghost with you car, do they take away it's haunting license?
You can listen to the show on an Alexa device, simply by saying "Alexa, play Too Many Podcasts! on TuneIn." How much easier can I make it for you???
Marianne's info: Website: www.walkingtheshadowlands.com ; Facebook and Twitter: @Walking the Shadowlands; email- [email protected] She likes getting stories of paranormal experiences. Sorry, listening to my podcast does NOT count!
Sherpa Suggestions:
- Walking The Shadowlands;
- Astonishing Legends;
- Beyond The Darkness
- Unexplained;
- Aaron Mehnke's Cabinet of Curiosities
That's it for this week's Sherpa Sheet-see you next time!

Sherpa Selects: Zachary Smith is a man on a "Mission 4 Health"....really, he is!
The Sherpa's Podcast Picks (Discovering podcasts with Jim the Podcast Sherpa)
03/30/24 • 31 min
As with a lot of my Season 1 shows, (unfortunately) there are no new episodes of Zach's podcast. But if you're looking for physical motivation and spiritual inspiration, check out his shows!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
It was a real pleasure speaking with Zach for this week's episode. Talk about someone with a real passion for life, and a spiritual connection to what he does for others. Super easy to listen to his show, too, since it's in easy 1-minute bites. And he gives you a minute worth thinking about. I think Mary Catherine will certainly grow up in a world where her parents will always let her know how special she is to them. After our conversation, I got him Dan Young's (my previous guest, who hosts Total Wellness Radio) contact info. I think even if they don't end up on each other's podcast, they would still have a great conversation about living a healthy life. But fingers crossed for networking. Also! All meat, all the time? Is it too late to eat that (thank you, Sherpa Bride!)? Who needs a coach? And, does the Master's Tournament of Disc Golf give you a green jacket, or a ladder to get your Frisbee off the roof?
Zachary's info:Facebook: Mission 4 Health; Instagram @dailymissionforhealth, @zaach21
Zachary's Podcast picks: Your First 100K, Broken Catholic, Craig Groeschel Leadership Podcast
Sherpa Suggestions:
- Eat This, Not That!
- EMbody Radio (w/Emily Duncan)
- Legendary Life Podcast
- Chasing Excellence
- The FitCast
Hey, if you're not entering The Contest (and why not?) Can you please leave a nice review on Apple Podcasts,, or a pleasant comment on IHeartRadio? Thank you!!

Podcast Q&A
Why did you start this show?
Because an existing 750,000 podcasts needs one more, to make it not such a "neat number." And I'm the one to make it odd, trust me.
What do you hope listeners gain from listening to your show?
Hopefully, not too much earwax buildup. Those earbuds can be tricky.
Which episode should someone start with?
I'm a quiet podcast Sherpa. Why are you encouraging people to start with me?
Which have been your favourite episodes so far?
The ones where I get to say something intelligent. You'll have to find them on your own.
Which episode are you most proud of?
It was a banner day for me when I introduced myself as Jim the Podcast Sherpa, and a celebration of "cease and desist gone right" for Joe Rogan's lawyers when I stopped saying I was him.
What is your vision for your show?
Yes, I wear glasses. But only for drinking.
What is your favourite other podcast that isn't yours?
(I like how you spell "favourite". Very British of you.) I only like mine. All the rest are potential guests, who will likely hate me at some point in the future, or the past.
How did you come up with the name for your podcast?
Seriously? "Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend" was taken.
Tell us a bit about yourself
Sorry, Skippy, it's classified information. Just that I hope people listen, enjoy, review my show, and engage with me. And, as I said in that other thing you made me fill out-I'm Batman.
